What’s This Antique Venetian Glass Mirror Made Of?

All components of this antique Venetian glass mirror’s glass pieces have little bevelled edges. This bevelling has multiple benefits, the first being to take ‘the edge off’ the mirror leaving it with a more stylishly satisfying aesthetic for the eye.

This bevelling also works to protect and fortify the mirror in case of an accident, while additionally making the mirror physically easier to carry and install without gloves. Thus preventing injury from the otherwise sharp glass edges of this frameless piece.

These mirrored glass pieces are precisely placed onto a sturdy wooden backing-board, that has been encased with soft black felt.

The colouring decision for the felt being black, comes from the idea of staying nonpartisan to this antique Venetian glass mirror’s surrounding colour schemes, as black tends to ‘go with everything’ thus avoiding the colour of the felt stylistically clashing with the decorum surrounding it.

This felting also ensures the protection of the mirror and its surrounding environment.
