WHAT’S ITS HISTORY?
Named after Rockley Manor near Marlborough, Wiltshire. The Marlborough mirror’s design has been inspired by some of the finest mirror frame crafts that European culture has seen throughout modern history.
Some of the historic designs were incredibly lavish and ornate, whereas the Marlborough has been in a sense somewhat toned down to suit a slightly more minimalist modern theme.
WHAT’S IT GOOD FOR & WHAT DOES IT GO WITH?
With classic floral ornate detailing to all corners and sides, complete with beaded trim around the inner edging of the mirror frame, the Marlborough mirror makes a subtle yet contradictorily bold statement, no matter its placement within the home.
Suited well within the bedroom, this is the most common space that most people place this style of mirror in. Adding a sense of extravagance and quality to the mirrors immediate environment.
It can also work well anywhere throughout the home providing that its surroundings compliment its classical level of high detail.
The Marlborough comes in 2 sizes, full length and floor leaner. Both of which are large enough to work as floor leaners, whilst also both being suitable for hanging to a wall space.
Two colours are available, white and silver. It is important to note that the silver, due to its metallic paint, it can show in certain lights with subtle champagne tones.
Both paint types are brushed on carefully by hand by our master mirror craftsmen.
WHAT’S IT MADE OF?
The Marlborough mirror comes with a small bevel to the edge of the mirror glass panel.
This acts to add solidarity to the mirror panel whilst also adding a sense of aesthetic softness to ‘take the edge off’ the mirror.
The frame is made from high-resin plywood, of which the ornate design is then cut-out using laser technology to ensure accuracy.
The frame is then taken to the finishing department where it is carefully hand painted.
The reverse of the mirror is left unpainted, and the reverse of the mirror glass panel is covered with a sheet of plywood board to protect it.
