Built for the garden, equally at home indoors
This black industrial rectangular mirror pairs a clean windowpane grid design with a weatherproof build, making it a versatile piece for gardens, patios, and interior walls. A recent addition to our Lydeard Collection range, it was chosen for its ability to blend an industrial-style silhouette with a refined satin finish that works across a wide variety of settings.
Design & Materials
The frame is constructed from steel finished in a smooth satin black, giving it a modern, understated look rather than a high-gloss sheen. Slim bars divide the mirror into a geometric grid — a large central pane flanked by narrow side panels, with smaller rectangular panes along the top and bottom edges. The effect is reminiscent of a Crittall-style window, adding architectural depth without the bulk of a heavier frame. Each bar measures roughly 2.5 cm wide, keeping the profile sleek and the reflective surface generous. The glass is clear and unbevelled, and the back is finished with a solid plastic sheet backing board for protection. It is a black metal framed rectangular mirror that feels well-made and purposeful, with clean welds and consistent paintwork throughout.
Size & Placement
At 100 cm tall and 70 cm wide, this rectangular black metal mirror is a comfortable mid-size piece. In the garden, we often suggest mounting it on a brick wall or fence panel at roughly eye level — it catches light beautifully and gives the illusion of a window opening onto another space. Positioned among climbing plants or beside a seating area, it adds real depth to a courtyard or patio. Indoors, the industrial black metal mirror sits naturally above a console table in a hallway, over a sideboard in a dining room, or as a focal point on a feature wall. At just 2 cm deep, it sits close to the wall with a slim, unobtrusive profile. The flat bottom edge also means you can lean it on a shelf or mantelpiece if you prefer a more relaxed, layered look. Because it is rated for indoor and outdoor use, you can move it between spaces as your styling evolves.
Hanging & Installation
The mirror has four keyhole fixings on the back, allowing you to hang it in either portrait or landscape orientation. Position your wall screws to line up with the centre of the corresponding keyholes, then hook the mirror on. At 10 kg, it is manageable for one person, though having a second pair of hands to hold it in place while you mark drilling points makes the job quicker and more accurate. Use fixings appropriate for your wall type — heavy-duty rawl plugs for masonry, or specialist plasterboard anchors for stud walls. Wall screws and rawl plugs are not included. Important: do not use string, wire, or chain to hang this mirror.
