Built for the garden, loved indoors too
This garden wall window mirror is a consistent bestseller in our Garden Mirrors range. With its ornate hinged shutters and weathered metal frame, it brings a sense of depth and secret-garden charm to any wall — whether that’s a garden fence, a sheltered patio, or an interior hallway that needs a focal point.
Design & Materials
The frame is constructed from steel finished in a rich verdigris patina — tones of aged green and russet brown that give the piece a genuinely weathered, vintage character. An arched pediment sits above the main mirror panel, featuring a decorative urn motif with trailing leaves and scrollwork, all rendered in the same distressed metal. Two hinged shutter doors swing open to reveal the mirror glass, and each door carries its own ornamental ironwork with fleur-de-lys forms, rosette medallions, and flowing S-scrolls. When closed, the shutters sit flush against the glass, creating a large window arch mirror silhouette. When open, they add roughly 20 cm of decorative width on each side. The mirror glass itself is clear and unbevelled, backed by a plastic sheet board for outdoor resilience. In our experience, this verdigris finish pairs naturally with rustic, vintage, and industrial schemes — it also looks at home among terracotta pots and climbing greenery.
Size & Placement
At 130 cm tall and 70 cm wide (with shutters closed), this is a generous piece without being overwhelming. Hung on a fence panel at head height, it captures sky, foliage, and light, making a modest garden feel noticeably larger. Customers tend to pair this with climbing plants or lanterns on either side for a secret-garden effect. It works equally well indoors — above a console table in a hallway, or as a large wall window mirror in a dining room that needs an unexpected decorative accent. Because the base is flat, you could also lean it against a sturdy wall if wall-fixing isn’t practical, though hanging is the more secure option for outdoor use. The 12 kg weight keeps it manageable for two people to position.
Hanging & Installation
Two keyhole fixings on the back allow you to hook the mirror over a pair of screws — a straightforward installation with no wires or chains needed. Mark your drill points 70 cm apart at the correct height, and ensure you use fixings appropriate for your wall or fence type: rawl plugs and screws for masonry, or heavy-duty timber screws for solid fence panels. Wall screws and plugs are not included. Given the mirror weighs 12 kg and has a substantial metal frame, we recommend having a second person to lift and align the piece while you secure it.
