Nature-inspired metal art that catches the light
This bee wall art combines sculptural metalwork with mirrored glass to create a piece that is equal parts garden décor and functional mirror. Part of our Lustleigh Collection range, a collection that sells consistently well with our garden and outdoor customers. Seven detailed bumblebees are arranged across a honeycomb lattice, their wings and bodies layered in front of mirror panels that catch and bounce natural light around your space.
Design & Materials
The round steel frame is finished in a warm, rustic copper tone with deliberate speckled patina that gives it an aged, weathered character straight from the box. Each bee is individually cut and painted in tones of gold, amber, and bronze, with delicate openwork wings that let light pass through. The hexagonal honeycomb grid divides the mirror into geometric segments, adding depth and visual interest. Behind the glass sits a plastic sheet backing board that helps protect the piece when displayed outdoors. The overall effect is somewhere between 3D metal wall art and a decorative garden mirror — it works as both.
Size & Placement
At 80 cm in diameter and just 1.5 cm deep, this is a bold but manageable piece of metal garden wall art. We often suggest this for rendered garden walls or timber fences where the mirrored panels can reflect greenery and open up a smaller courtyard or patio. Indoors, it sits beautifully in a hallway, kitchen, or conservatory — anywhere you want a touch of nature-inspired modern wall art. The round shape and warm copper tones pair naturally with rustic, country, or modern interiors. At 5 kg it has a reassuring solidity without being unwieldy.
Hanging & Installation
The mirror has keyhole fixings on the back, so you simply hook it onto screws already set in your wall. Do not use string, wire, or chain to hang this piece. Wall screws and rawl plugs are not included — choose fixings appropriate to your wall type, whether that is brick, render, or timber fence posts. For outdoor masonry, stainless steel screws and suitable plugs will give the most reliable hold. The 5 kg weight means one person can handle hanging comfortably, but a second pair of hands is always useful for marking the fixing point accurately.
