Built for the garden, equally at home indoors
This large black arched wall mirror draws the eye with its tall, slender silhouette and Crittall-inspired grid panes. A recent addition to our Ashington Collection range, it was chosen for its ability to add height, light, and architectural interest to both garden walls and interior spaces. We often suggest this for narrow spots that need visual impact without width.
Design & Materials
The frame is constructed from steel, finished in a smooth matte black that sits comfortably alongside industrial, modern, and ornate décor schemes. Twelve individual mirror panes are arranged in a two-column grid, divided by slim metal bars and punctuated at each junction by a small raised rosette stud — a detail that gives the piece a wrought-iron, almost Gothic character. The top of the frame curves into a gentle arch, while the base is flat, lending a church-window aesthetic. Each pane is backed with a plastic sheet board for added security, particularly useful if the mirror is placed outdoors. The glass itself is clear and unbevelled, offering crisp reflections that bounce light and greenery back into your garden or room.
Size & Placement
At 170 cm tall and only 30 cm wide, this is a large black metal mirror that excels in spaces where a broader design simply would not fit. Its narrow proportions make it ideal for hallway walls between doorways, slim pillar sections in living rooms, or the gap between a window and a corner. Outdoors, lean it against a brick wall flanked by planting — the reflected foliage creates the illusion of a hidden garden beyond. Because it has a flat bottom, you can rest it on a patio, decking, or soil border and let it lean at a slight angle for a relaxed, unfussy look. It also works beautifully hung on a fence panel to open up a small courtyard. Indoors, try it beside a full-length curtain or at the end of a landing to draw the corridor out visually. Its depth of just 3 cm keeps it close to the wall, so it never feels intrusive even in tight spots.
Hanging & Installation
The mirror has two keyhole fixings on the back, so you simply hook it onto two screws driven into your wall at the correct spacing. At 10 kg it is manageable for one person to lift, though having a second pair of hands to hold it level while you mark your drill points is always helpful. Wall screws and rawl plugs are not included — use fixings appropriate to your wall type, whether that is solid brick, breeze block, or timber stud. Do not use string, wire, or chain to hang this mirror. If you are placing it outdoors, ensure the screws you choose are rust-resistant so the fixings stay secure through the seasons.
