Built for the garden, loved indoors too
This rustic window mirror brings the romance of a weathered country cottage to your outdoor wall or interior space. Customers tell us it works particularly well for making a garden feel larger and more open — mounted on a boundary wall or fence, the reflected greenery creates a convincing sense of depth.
Design & Materials
The frame is constructed from steel, finished in a hand-applied distressed bronze with subtle verdigris undertones that catch the light differently depending on the angle. Two hinged shutters sit within the arched outline, each divided by glazing bars into six panes, and they can be positioned open at varying angles for a trompe-l’œil effect — as though a real window is ajar. Above the shutters, a decorative fanlight panel features scrolled ironwork centred on a heart motif, adding an ornate flourish without tipping into fussiness. The glass is clear and flat (not bevelled), backed by a plastic sheet board that helps protect it from moisture when used outdoors. In our experience, the warm rustic tones pair naturally with exposed brick, rendered walls, and timber fencing.
Size & Placement
At 92 cm tall and 61 cm wide, this window mirror rustic arch is a mid-sized piece — large enough to create a genuine focal point on a garden wall, yet compact enough to sit comfortably above a console table or mantelpiece indoors. For garden use, position it on a fence panel or rendered wall where it can catch sky and foliage; the reflected light opens up even the smallest courtyard. Inside, it suits hallways, living rooms, and country-style kitchens. Because it has a flat bottom edge, you also have the option of leaning it against a wall on a shelf or sideboard if you prefer not to drill. The metal arch window frame measures just 1.5 cm deep and 2.5 cm across, so it sits close to the wall without looking bulky, and at 7 kg it carries a reassuring solidity without being unwieldy.
Hanging & Installation
Two keyhole fixings are set into the back of the frame — one on each side — so hanging is straightforward: simply drive two screws into your wall and hook the mirror onto them. We recommend marking both screw positions with a spirit level before drilling, so the arch sits perfectly upright. Wall screws and rawl plugs are not included; choose fixings appropriate for your wall type (masonry anchors for brick or block, heavy-duty plasterboard fixings for stud walls). Do not use string, wire, or chain to hang this mirror. For outdoor walls, stainless-steel or zinc-plated screws will resist corrosion and keep the mirror secure through the seasons.
