Built for the garden, equally at home indoors
This small decorative wall mirror pairs a classic gothic arch silhouette with elaborate metal scrollwork, creating a piece that sits comfortably on a garden fence, a courtyard wall, or in a hallway nook. A recent addition to our Brockley Collection range, it was chosen for its ability to bring ornamental detail to tight spaces where a larger mirror simply would not fit.
Design & Materials
The frame is constructed from steel, shaped into symmetrical scrolls and curling tendrils that radiate from a central spine. Six raised bosses punctuate the design, adding three-dimensional depth you can appreciate from an angle as well as head-on. The entire metalwork is finished in a warm, textured patina that blends rustic gold tones with subtle green verdigris — an effect that looks genuinely weathered rather than painted-on. Behind the scrollwork sits a clear mirror glass (non-bevelled), backed by a plastic sheet board for outdoor resilience. In our experience, this kind of distressed metal finish only improves as it ages in an outdoor setting, developing a richer character over time. If you favour ornate metal wall mirrors or are looking for metal garden wall art, this piece bridges both worlds neatly.
Size & Placement
At 40 cm tall and 24 cm wide, this is a compact mirror designed to enhance a space rather than dominate it. Outdoors, it works beautifully mounted on a garden fence, shed wall, or tucked among climbing plants — the arch shape echoes traditional church windows and pairs well with cottage or country-style planting. For outdoor metal garden wall art that also reflects light and greenery back into a border, this is a practical choice. Indoors, consider it above a small console table, in a cloakroom, or grouped with other decorative mirrors to form an eclectic gallery arrangement. Its flat bottom also means it can lean on a shelf or mantelpiece if you prefer not to fix it to the wall. At just 2 kg, it is easy to reposition whenever you fancy a change.
Hanging & Installation
The mirror has keyhole fixings on the back, so hanging is straightforward — simply hook it onto a screw already fixed to your wall. Do not use string, wire, or chain. Wall screws and rawl plugs are not included; use fixings appropriate for your wall type, whether that is brick, timber fencing, or plasterboard. Because the mirror is lightweight and compact, a single screw in a solid surface is usually sufficient, and one person can manage the installation comfortably.
