Light from every direction
This star shaped mirror is a piece that earns its place on the wall — part functional mirror, part modern wall art. A steady performer in our wall mirrors line-up, it is chosen repeatedly by customers looking for a frameless statement piece that brings movement and light to a room without adding visual weight.
Design & Materials
The design takes its cue from classic sunburst mirrors but strips away any painted or gilded frame. Instead, the entire piece is constructed from bevelled mirror panels — a central round glass encircled by twenty-four angular, petal-like rays that taper to sharp points. Each ray is individually cut and angled so that it catches light differently depending on where you stand, giving the mirror a three-dimensional, almost faceted quality. The bevelled edges add a subtle prismatic sparkle along every join. Backed by a solid hardwood substrate with a plastic veneer finish, the construction feels reassuringly rigid. The overall silhouette is irregular — a star or sunburst shape — which makes it a natural focal point without competing with other decorative wall art in the room. In our experience, the all-mirror finish pairs effortlessly with both contemporary and Deco-influenced interiors, sitting as happily against a soft grey wall as it does on crisp white.
Size & Placement
At 80 × 80 cm and just 2.5 cm deep, this is a mid-sized mirror wall art piece that commands attention without overwhelming a space. It works particularly well above a console table in a hallway, centred over a mantelpiece in a living room, or as a striking accent in a bedroom above a dressing area. Because the star shape radiates outward evenly, we recommend leaving at least 15 cm of clear wall around the widest points so the outline reads cleanly. The mirror weighs 7 kg — substantial enough to feel high quality yet light enough to hang on most standard walls with appropriate fixings. If you are drawn to geometric mirrors or modern wall art but want something softer than hard-edged rectangles, this sunburst silhouette offers an appealing middle ground.
Hanging & Installation
This mirror comes fitted with two D-loops on the back, aligned vertically for portrait hanging. Simply install two screws in your wall, spaced evenly to match the centres of the D-loops, and hang the mirror directly. Do not use string, wire, or chain. Wall screws and rawl plugs are not included — use fixings suitable for your wall type, and if you are hanging on plasterboard, be sure to locate a stud or use specialist plasterboard anchors rated for the weight. At 7 kg the mirror is manageable for one person, but having someone hold it in position while you mark your drill points will make the job quicker and more accurate.
For a clean, flush-wall finish, we recommend pairing this mirror with our heavy-duty mirror fittings kit — a hook-and-loop back-plate system designed to sit flat against solid frames.
