Built for the garden, loved indoors too
This black window pane wall mirror combines a clever asymmetric casement grid with a clean rectangular silhouette, producing a design that genuinely looks like an open window. A recent addition to our Wyndham Collection range, chosen for its distinctive perspective-play detail that sets it apart from standard window mirrors.
Design & Materials
The frame and internal grid bars are constructed from steel and finished in a smooth matte black coating. Rather than a symmetrical grid, the pane layout is offset — six panes sit to one side of a diagonal bar that mimics a casement window swung open, adding a sense of depth and movement that flat grids cannot match. The frame profile is slim at approximately 2.5 cm, keeping the focus on the mirrored glass and the geometric pattern within. Glass is clear and un-bevelled, giving sharp, undistorted reflections. A plastic sheet backing board protects the rear, contributing to the mirror’s suitability for sheltered outdoor positions as well as indoor walls.
Size & Placement
At 80 cm tall and 58 cm wide, this is a compact yet impactful piece. Indoors, it sits comfortably above a console table or sofa without dominating the wall — we often suggest this size for hallways or smaller living spaces where a larger window mirror might overwhelm the scheme. Its black metal frame pairs naturally with industrial and modern interiors, though it also works well against exposed brick, painted panelling, or neutral plaster walls. Outdoors, mount it on a garden wall or fence to reflect greenery and sky, creating the illusion of an extra window in a courtyard or patio area. The flat bottom edge means it can also lean against a wall on a shelf or mantelpiece if you prefer not to fix it permanently. Weighing 6 kg, it is light enough to reposition between seasons — garden in summer, hallway in winter.
Hanging & Installation
The mirror is fitted with two keyhole fixings on the back, so you simply hook it onto two screws set at the correct spacing in your wall. Do not use string, wire, or chain to hang this mirror. Wall screws and rawl plugs are not included — use fixings appropriate for your wall type. For masonry or brick garden walls, standard rawl plugs and screws are usually sufficient; for plasterboard or stud walls indoors, use cavity fixings rated for at least 6 kg. At this weight a single person can manage the hang comfortably, though a second pair of hands helps when marking the screw positions accurately.
