Built for the garden, loved indoors too
This round black metal mirror pairs a slim satin-black steel frame with a subtly flattened base, creating a silhouette that is almost — but not quite — a perfect circle. A recent addition to our Tavistarc Collection range, it was chosen for that balance of pared-back simplicity and quiet visual interest the flat base provides.
Design & Materials
The frame is constructed from lightweight steel finished in a smooth satin black that absorbs light rather than reflecting it, giving the surround a contemporary, understated presence. At roughly 2.5 cm wide, the profile is deliberately slim — enough to define the mirror’s edge without competing with the glass. The base of the circle is gently flattened, lending the piece a distinctive shape that sits somewhere between a round wall mirror and a soft geometric form. Behind the clear, unbevelled glass sits a plastic sheet backing board, keeping weight down while protecting the silvering. In our experience, satin-black frames like this one are among the easiest finishes to pair with existing décor — they complement matte-black tap ware, dark window frames, and wrought-iron garden furniture with equal ease.
Size & Placement
Measuring 80 cm tall by 84 cm wide and just 2 cm deep, this is a generously sized piece without being overwhelming. At that width it works well above a console table or sideboard, filling the wall space neatly without spilling past the furniture edges. Because the base is flat, you can also lean the mirror on a mantelpiece or deep shelf for a relaxed, layered look. Rated for both indoor and outdoor use, it makes a striking black round wall mirror for a courtyard, patio fence, or garden wall — bouncing light and greenery back into planting schemes the way the best garden mirrors do. Indoors, it suits bedrooms, living rooms, and hallways where a large round black mirror for the wall can open up the sense of space. Customers tend to pair this with industrial or modern interiors, though its plain profile means it sits comfortably alongside almost any style.
Hanging & Installation
The mirror weighs 8 kg and arrives with a single keyhole fixing on the top rail at the back, oriented for portrait hanging. Simply drive a suitable screw into your wall and hook the mirror over it — no wire, string, or chain is needed or recommended. Wall screws and rawl plugs are not included, so please choose fixings appropriate for your wall type: standard rawl plugs for masonry, or plasterboard anchors rated for at least 8 kg if you are fixing into a stud wall. For outdoor mounting on a fence or rendered wall, stainless-steel or zinc-plated screws will resist corrosion. Two people will make positioning easier, but the weight is manageable for a single person if needed.
