Built for the garden, equally at home indoors
One of the most commanding pieces in our extra large black mirrors collection, this industrial windowpane design pairs a generous 200 × 120 cm mirror surface with a slender steel grid frame in matte black. A recent addition to our Henley Collection range, chosen for its ability to bridge the gap between indoor elegance and outdoor durability.
Design & Materials
The frame is constructed from steel with a smooth matte black finish, keeping the profile impressively slim at roughly 2.5 cm wide. Rather than the uniform grid you find on many window mirrors, this design uses an asymmetric layout — smaller square panes line the top, bottom, and sides while a large open central panel dominates the middle. The effect is architectural, almost Crittall-inspired, and it gives the mirror a contemporary industrial character without feeling heavy-handed. Each pane holds clear, unbevelled glass that delivers a sharp, undistorted reflection. The back is finished with a plastic sheet backing board for protection, and the overall build feels reassuringly solid at 33 kg.
Size & Placement
At 200 cm tall and 120 cm wide, this is a genuinely large black metal leaner mirror — the kind that anchors an entire wall. We often suggest this for open-plan living areas, wide hallways, or above a long console table where it can reflect light deep into the room. The flat bottom edge means it can lean securely against a wall as a modern large wall mirror or floor piece, ideal if you prefer not to drill. Because it is rated for both indoor and outdoor use, it works beautifully mounted on a garden wall or propped against weathered brick to create the illusion of a window — a trick that opens up even compact courtyard spaces. If you are pairing it with existing décor, the pared-back industrial styling sits naturally alongside exposed metalwork, concrete finishes, and raw timber, but it contrasts just as well against softer palettes in contemporary or Scandi-style interiors.
Hanging & Installation
The mirror has four keyhole fixings on the back, so you can hang it in either portrait or landscape orientation. Position your wall screws to line up with the centre of the corresponding keyholes, then hook the mirror on. At 33 kg, we recommend two people for lifting and positioning. Use fixings appropriate to your wall type — heavy-duty rawl plugs for masonry, or specialist plasterboard anchors for stud walls. Wall screws and rawl plugs are not included. Do not use string, wire, or chain to hang this mirror. If you choose to lean it rather than fix it to the wall, angle the base slightly outward for stability and consider a small anti-slip pad beneath.
