Built for the garden, equally at home indoors
This garden gate mirror draws its charm from the timeless silhouette of a pair of arched garden gates, rendered in a weathered brown metal frame that suits both outdoor walls and indoor living spaces. Customers tell us it makes an immediate impression — easy to fix and a genuine focal point wherever it’s placed.
Design & Materials
The frame is constructed from steel with a distressed brown finish that lends a vintage industrial character without looking heavy-handed. Slender metal bars divide the mirror glass into pane-like sections, echoing the glazing pattern of a traditional double gate. A small decorative latch detail sits at the centre where the two “doors” meet, reinforcing the gate illusion. The arch at the top contains a smaller half-moon arch inset — a design touch we see chosen most often for garden mirrors because it adds depth and period interest to an otherwise simple shape.
The glass itself is clear and un-bevelled, letting reflections stay bright and true. Behind the glass sits a plastic sheet backing board that helps protect the mirror panels and keeps weight manageable at around 7 kg. The overall aesthetic sits comfortably between industrial and vintage — it pairs well with exposed brick, rendered walls, timber fencing, and planted borders alike.
Size & Placement
At 100 cm tall and 50 cm wide, this metal arch wall mirror is a practical mid-size piece. In the garden, it works beautifully mounted on a boundary wall or fence panel to reflect greenery and create an illusion of depth — particularly effective in smaller courtyards or patio areas where space feels tight. Because it is rated for outdoor use, it can handle the British weather, though a sheltered spot will keep the finish looking its best for longer.
Indoors, the gate-style frame brings character to hallways, utility rooms, or any wall that could use a touch of outdoor metal garden wall art charm. The flat bottom edge also means you can lean it against a wall on a mantelpiece, shelf, or console table if you prefer not to drill. At just 1.5 cm deep, it sits almost flush against the surface — unobtrusive from the side.
Hanging & Installation
The mirror comes with two keyhole fixings on the back, set for portrait hanging. Simply drive two screws into your wall at the correct spacing and hook the mirror onto them. Do not use string, wire, or chain to hang this piece. Wall screws and rawl plugs are not included, so choose fixings appropriate for your wall type — masonry anchors for brick or stone, plasterboard fixings for stud walls, or suitable outdoor screws if mounting on timber fencing. At 7 kg the mirror is comfortable for one person to lift, though a second pair of hands makes levelling easier.
