This black glass wall mirror pairs crisp bevelled mirror panels with inset strips of dark smoked glass, creating a layered geometric border that catches and reflects light from every angle. A steady performer in our Wall Mirrors line-up — chosen repeatedly by customers looking for a contemporary frameless look with a touch of drama.
Design & Materials
The frame is constructed entirely from glass: alternating bands of clear bevelled mirror and black glass are precisely mitred at the corners, giving the border a structured, architectural quality. Each strip sits at a slightly different depth, producing subtle shadow lines that add dimension without bulk. Behind the glass, a solid hardwood backing board provides rigidity, while a black felt layer protects your wall from scratches. The central mirror glass is clear and bevelled at its edge, offering an undistorted reflection with a polished finish throughout. In our experience, this combination of black and clear glass works particularly well against pale or neutral walls, where the contrast reads as bold rather than heavy.
Size & Placement
At 90 cm tall and 60 cm wide, this rectangular frameless wall mirror sits comfortably above a console table, vanity unit, or sideboard without overwhelming the wall. The depth is a slim 2 cm, so it sits close to the surface once hung. Because it can be oriented either way, portrait mounting suits narrower hallway walls and entryways, while landscape works beautifully as a decorative rectangular wall mirror above a bathroom basin or fireplace. The flat bottom edge also means you can lean it on a shelf or mantelpiece if you prefer a more relaxed look. At 10 kg it has a reassuring solidity — substantial enough to feel well-made, yet light enough for standard plasterboard fixings with the right plugs.
Hanging & Installation
Four D-loop brackets are pre-fitted to the hardwood back — two positioned for landscape hanging, two for portrait — so you can choose your orientation without any extra hardware on the mirror itself. Simply measure the distance between the relevant pair of D-loops, mark your wall, and drive in screws that align with the centre of each loop. Wall screws and rawl plugs are not included; use fixings appropriate for your wall type (masonry, plasterboard, or stud). Because the mirror weighs 10 kg, we recommend a two-person hang to hold it steady while you hook the brackets onto your screws. Do not use wire, string, or chain between the D-loops — the mirror must sit directly on its fixings for a secure hold.
For a clean, flush-wall finish, we recommend pairing this mirror with our heavy-duty mirror fittings kit — a hook-and-loop back-plate system designed to sit flat against solid frames.
