Bold geometry, quiet glamour
This large black rectangle wall mirror pairs crisp geometric lines with light-catching bevelled glass to create a piece that feels both modern and luxurious. A steady performer in our Wall Mirrors line-up — chosen repeatedly by customers looking for a contemporary statement with real visual weight.
Design & Materials
Rather than a traditional timber or metal surround, the frame is built entirely from layered strips of clear and black glass, each bevelled along its edge so that light refracts and shifts as you move around the room. The alternating bands of silver mirror and deep black glass give the border a stepped, architectural quality — almost art-deco in character, yet clean enough to sit comfortably in a modern interior. Behind the glass layers sits a solid hardwood backing board finished with a black felt layer, which keeps the rear tidy against the wall and protects your paintwork. We recommend taking a close look at the detail images: the precision of the bevelled edges is a hallmark of this design and one of the features that sets it apart from printed or painted black-framed mirrors.
Size & Placement
Measuring 144 cm high by 115.5 cm wide, this is a generously scaled rectangular mirror that works best on a wall with room to breathe. Hung landscape above a sofa or sideboard, it fills a wide wall space without overwhelming the furniture beneath — in our experience, a sofa of around 200–220 cm pairs particularly well, leaving balanced negative space on either side. In portrait orientation it becomes a near full-length piece, ideal for a dining room feature wall or a spacious entrance hall where you want to open up a darker corridor with reflected light. The flat bottom edge also means you can lean it against a wall as a large modern decorative mirror, propped behind a console table or resting on the floor of a dressing area for a relaxed, editorial look. At 1.6 cm deep, it sits close to the wall for a sleek profile.
Hanging & Installation
Four D-loops are fitted to the back of the hardwood frame, positioned so you can hang the mirror in either landscape or portrait. Line your wall screws up with the centre of each D-loop and hang the mirror directly — do not use string, wire, or chain, as the weight needs to be distributed evenly across all four points. At 18 kg this is a substantial piece, so we’d strongly suggest a two-person lift when positioning it and fixings rated for your wall type. For plasterboard or stud walls, heavy-duty anchors are essential; solid masonry will hold with standard rawl plugs and screws (not included).
For a clean, flush-wall finish, we recommend pairing this mirror with our heavy-duty mirror fittings kit — a hook-and-loop back-plate system designed to sit flat against solid frames.
