Sculptural gold for indoors and out
This gold teardrop cascade wall mirror turns a blank stretch of wall — or a garden post — into something genuinely eye-catching. Five mirrored panels sit within a continuous, flowing gold frame that ripples from top to bottom, catching and reflecting light in unexpected directions. A recent addition to our Stringston Collection range, chosen for its ability to work as both a decorative mirror and a piece of modern wall art.
Design & Materials
The frame is constructed from steel with a smooth, satin-gold painted finish — warm without being brassy, and even in tone across the full length. Each of the five teardrop-shaped panels is framed by gently undulating curves that pinch inward where one tier meets the next, creating a chain-like silhouette. The mirror glass is clear and unbevelled, sitting flush within each section. A plastic sheet backing board adds rigidity while keeping the overall weight manageable at 5 kg. In our experience, the narrow 15 cm width gives this gold decorative wall mirror a jewellery-like quality on the wall — it reads as ornamentation rather than a conventional mirror.
Size & Placement
At 124 cm tall, 15 cm wide, and 3 cm deep, this is a deliberately slim, elongated piece. It works beautifully in spaces where a standard large wall mirror in gold would overwhelm: think the strip of wall beside a front door, the pillar of a garden pergola (as shown in our lifestyle imagery), a narrow alcove, or the gap between two windows. Because it is rated for both indoor and outdoor use, it doubles as metal garden wall art — fix it to a fence, trellis, or sheltered exterior wall to bounce greenery and sky back into a courtyard. Indoors, it pairs well with modern or decorative schemes; the warm gold tone sits comfortably alongside brass hardware, natural timber, and deep jewel-coloured furnishings. For a bolder arrangement, consider hanging two side by side with a slight gap between them to create a longer decorative feature on a large modern wall.
Hanging & Installation
The mirror hangs in portrait orientation only via a single keyhole fixing on the top rail at the back. Simply drive a screw into your wall at the correct height and hook the keyhole over it — no wire, string, or chain should be used. At 5 kg, it is light enough for one person to hang comfortably, though having a second pair of hands to check alignment is always helpful. Wall screws and rawl plugs are not included, so please choose fixings appropriate for your wall type — standard rawl plugs and screws for masonry, or suitable plasterboard anchors for stud walls. If mounting outdoors, stainless-steel or weather-resistant screws will help keep things secure over time.
