Built for the garden, equally at home indoors
This gold arch garden mirror brings a warm, understated elegance to any setting — whether mounted on a sun-drenched brick wall amid climbing roses or hung above a console table in a hallway. A recent addition to our Somerton Collection range, chosen for its pared-back silhouette and durable outdoor-ready construction.
Design & Materials
The frame is crafted from steel finished in a smooth matte gold tone — a warm, mid-lustre shade that catches daylight beautifully without appearing overly shiny. At roughly 2.5 cm wide, the frame sits slim and unobtrusive, letting the generous mirror glass do the talking. The arch profile has a gentle, perfectly symmetrical curve at the top that meets straight sides and a flat base, giving it a clean, modern feel far removed from ornate or fussy designs. A plastic sheet backing board protects the rear of the mirror, keeping it sealed against moisture — an important detail for any piece destined for garden use. We recommend this style for anyone after a large gold mirror for a wall that leans modern rather than traditional; it pairs effortlessly with contemporary interiors, brushed brass hardware, or natural stone and greenery outdoors.
Size & Placement
At 120 cm tall and 80 cm wide, this is a genuinely large arch mirror — tall enough to create an eye-catching focal point without dominating its surroundings. Outdoors, it works particularly well on a garden wall, a courtyard fence, or mounted against trelliswork to reflect light and greenery, creating the illusion of depth in even a compact space. Indoors, the same dimensions make it an excellent choice above a sideboard, console table, or fireplace. Because the base is flat, you also have the option of leaning it against a wall at floor level for a relaxed, contemporary look in a bedroom or dressing area. The 3.3 cm depth keeps it close to the wall for a neat finish. Weighing 12 kg, it has real substance — sturdy enough to handle a breeze in the garden yet manageable to position with a second pair of hands.
Hanging & Installation
The mirror comes fitted with two keyhole fixings on the back, so hanging is straightforward: simply drive two screws into the wall at the correct spacing and hook the mirror over them. Wall screws and rawl plugs are not included, so choose fixings suited to your wall type — standard masonry fixings for brick or stone, or appropriate anchors if you are mounting on a plasterboard or stud wall. For a mirror of this size and weight, we suggest having a second person steady the piece while you align the keyholes. Do not use string, wire, or chain to hang this mirror. If mounting outdoors, ensure the screws and plugs you use are rust-resistant to match the mirror’s weatherproof build.
