Built for the garden, equally at home indoors
This metal black arch wall mirror pairs a generous 100 cm span with a quietly confident arch silhouette — the kind of shape we reach for when a room needs architectural interest without fuss. A recent addition to our Somerton Collection range, it was chosen for its versatile indoor-outdoor construction and the understated strength of its steel frame.
Design & Materials
The frame is constructed from steel finished in a smooth matte black coating. At roughly 2.5 cm wide, the profile is deliberately slim — enough to define the arch shape clearly while letting the mirror glass do the visual work. Up close, the finish has a fine, even texture with no visible grain or brush marks, giving it a contemporary, almost powder-coated appearance. The glass itself is clear and unbevelled, delivering a crisp, undistorted reflection. A plastic sheet backing board protects the rear, and the overall build feels solid at 10 kg — substantial without being unwieldy. The aesthetic is firmly modern and industrial-leaning, making it a natural companion for spaces styled with dark metal accents, exposed brick, or neutral stone.
Size & Placement
At 100 cm high and 100 cm wide, this is a broad, statement-sized black arch mirror that demands a wall with a little breathing room. It works beautifully above a standard mantelpiece, as shown in the lifestyle image, where the arch top draws the eye upward and the flat base aligns neatly with the shelf edge. In a hallway, it will open up the space and bounce light effectively. Because it is rated for outdoor use, you can mount it on a sheltered garden wall or fence to create depth in a courtyard — a practical alternative to metal garden wall art. The flat bottom edge also means you can lean it against a wall on a console table or sideboard for a more relaxed arrangement. We often suggest this size for dining rooms too, where a single large mirror anchored on a feature wall can make a mid-sized room feel twice as generous.
Hanging & Installation
The mirror comes fitted with two keyhole fixings on the back, so installation is straightforward: mark your two points, drive in a pair of screws, and hook the mirror on. At 10 kg it is manageable for one person, though a second pair of hands makes levelling easier — especially on a textured surface like stone or brick. Wall screws and rawl plugs are not included, so choose fixings appropriate to your wall type (masonry anchors for brick or stone, heavy-duty plasterboard fixings for stud walls). Do not use string, wire, or chain to hang this mirror. If you are placing it outdoors, ensure the screws and plugs are rust-resistant to match the frame’s durability.
