Built for the garden, equally at home indoors
This large garden wall mirror makes an immediate impact wherever you place it. At 190 × 120 cm, the generous arch silhouette catches light and reflects greenery, opening up even the most enclosed courtyard or patio. A recent addition to our Somerton Collection range, it was chosen for its pared-back steel frame and versatile indoor-outdoor construction.
Design & Materials
The frame is formed from steel finished in a smooth matte black coating — the profile is deliberately slim at roughly 2.5 cm wide, keeping attention on the mirror glass rather than the surround. In our experience, this kind of understated metal frame is the easiest to integrate with existing décor: it sits just as comfortably against weathered brick in a garden as it does against painted plaster inside. The glass is clear and unbevelled, giving a crisp, undistorted reflection, while a plastic sheet backing board protects the rear from moisture and debris when used outdoors. The overall build feels solid and substantial at 25 kg, reinforced by the rigid steel construction.
Size & Placement
At 190 cm tall and 120 cm wide, this is an extra-large arch mirror that commands a wall. Outdoors, we often suggest positioning it on a garden wall at the end of a path or bordered by planting — the reflected foliage doubles the sense of space and brings a quietly theatrical quality to a courtyard or terrace. Indoors, it works beautifully as a black metal leaner mirror propped against a living-room or hallway wall, thanks to its flat bottom edge. The modern large wall mirror shape also suits above a console table in an entrance hall or as a statement piece in a bedroom. Its depth of just 3.3 cm means it sits close to the wall with a low profile, so it will not protrude into a narrow corridor.
Hanging & Installation
The mirror comes with two keyhole fixings on the back, so you simply hook it onto two screws fixed into the wall. Wall screws and rawl plugs are not included — please use fixings appropriate for your wall type (solid masonry, brick, or stud). At 25 kg this is a two-person lift; we recommend having someone help you position and hang it safely. Do not use string, wire, or chain to hang this mirror. If you plan to lean it rather than hang it, ensure it rests on a level surface with the flat bottom edge firmly against the floor and the top tilted gently into the wall for stability.
