Built for the garden, equally at home indoors
This large gold window mirror brings the classic multi-pane look to any setting — inside or out. Part of our Nynehead Collection range, a collection that sells consistently well with our garden and living-room customers, it pairs generous proportions with a warm gold finish that catches and amplifies natural light.
Design & Materials
The frame is constructed from steel with a polished gold finish that has a clean, lustrous sheen — far removed from the flat spray-paint look of cheaper alternatives. Slim bars divide the mirror into a grid of 24 individual panes arranged in a six-by-four layout, giving it the unmistakable silhouette of a Georgian sash window. Each pane sits within a shallow stepped channel in the frame, adding subtle depth and shadow lines that become more pronounced in side light. The mirror glass itself is clear and un-bevelled, keeping the reflection crisp and uninterrupted across every pane. A plastic sheet backing board seals the rear, protecting the silvering from moisture — an important detail for a piece rated for outdoor use.
Size & Placement
At 174 cm tall and 110 cm wide, this is a genuinely large rectangular gold mirror that commands attention without overwhelming a well-proportioned room. In our experience, a gold window mirror of this scale works best as a focal point: hung portrait above a console table in a hallway, or landscape above a sofa or sideboard in a living room. The flat bottom edge means it can also lean against a wall as a full-length leaner — ideal in a bedroom or dressing area where you want a head-to-toe reflection framed in gold.
Outdoors, position it on a sheltered garden wall or fence where it will reflect foliage and sky, creating the illusion of an extra window. Because the frame is metal and the backing is sealed, it handles the British weather well, though a semi-covered spot will keep it looking its best for longer. We often suggest this for courtyard gardens or patio walls where space feels enclosed — the grid panes break up the reflection just enough to mimic a real window rather than a sheet of glass.
Hanging & Installation
The mirror has four keyhole fixings on the back, so you can hang it in either portrait or landscape orientation. Position your wall screws to line up with the centre of the corresponding keyholes, then hook the mirror on. At 20 kg, this is a two-person lift — we recommend having someone steady the frame while you align it. Use fixings appropriate for your wall type: heavy-duty rawl plugs and screws for masonry, or toggle bolts for stud walls. Wall screws and rawl plugs are not included. Important: do not use string, wire, or chain to hang this mirror.
