Built for the garden, equally at home indoors
This extra large rectangular grid wall mirror makes a striking focal point wherever you place it — garden wall, living room, hallway, or open-plan kitchen. Part of our Nynehead Collection range, a collection that sells consistently well with our garden and industrial-style customers. With 24 square panes arranged in a clean six-by-four layout, it captures the look of a heritage Crittall window while bouncing light and greenery back across the space.
Design & Materials
The frame is constructed from steel with a matte black powder-coat finish that reads crisp and contemporary without looking plasticky. Each glazing bar is slim — roughly 2.5 cm wide — keeping the emphasis on the mirror glass rather than the framework. The panes themselves are clear, un-bevelled glass, giving a faithful, undistorted reflection. A plastic sheet backing board protects the rear, and at 3.5 cm deep the whole piece sits close to the wall with a low-profile silhouette. In our experience, this kind of black metal grid mirror works especially well alongside exposed brick, natural timber cladding, and neutral-toned interiors where its linear geometry provides a clean counterpoint.
Size & Placement
At 174 cm tall and 110 cm wide, this is a genuinely large black wall mirror that commands attention without the need for surrounding décor. Hung in portrait orientation, it functions as a dramatic full-length piece — tall enough to give a head-to-toe reflection when positioned in a hallway or bedroom. Flip it to landscape and it works beautifully as an extra large rectangular wall mirror above a sideboard, console table, or mantelpiece. Because the base is flat, you can also lean it against a wall for a more relaxed, loft-style arrangement — a look customers tend to pair with industrial shelving or mid-century furniture. Outdoors, mount it on a garden wall or fence to create the illusion of depth and open sky; the steel frame is rated for outdoor use, making it a practical choice for courtyards, patios, and walled gardens where you want to amplify greenery and natural light.
Hanging & Installation
The mirror has four keyhole fixings on the back, allowing you to hang it in either portrait or landscape orientation. Position your wall screws to line up with the centre of the corresponding keyholes, then hook the mirror on. At 20 kg, this is a two-person lift — we recommend having someone steady the frame while you align the fixings. Use wall plugs and screws appropriate to your wall type: heavy-duty rawl plugs for masonry, or specialist plasterboard fixings if you are mounting into a stud wall. Do not use string, wire, or chain to hang this mirror. Wall screws and rawl plugs are not included.
