Built for the Garden, Equally at Home Indoors
This metal black arch full length mirror draws on the slender proportions and pointed tracery of a gothic chapel window to create a piece that feels architectural rather than merely decorative. Part of our Arscott Collection range, a collection that sells consistently well with our garden and hallway customers. At 160 × 47.5 cm, its tall, narrow profile reflects light and greenery without demanding a large stretch of wall.
Design & Materials
The frame is constructed from steel finished in a distressed black with subtle golden-brown undertones where the paint has been lightly rubbed through at the edges. This aged patina lends a convincing vintage quality — up close, you can see the texture of the brushed-back surface, particularly across the lattice bars and the pointed arches at the crown. The upper section features four elegant lancet panes that taper to a point, while the lower body is divided into neat rectangular panes arranged in a classic window grid. Each pane holds a clear mirror panel, giving the whole piece the look of a tall, arched window mirror. A plastic sheet backing board seals the rear, and the overall depth sits at a slim 4 cm, so it stays close to the wall even when hung outdoors.
Size & Placement
Standing 160 cm high, this black arch mirror full length makes an immediate impact in a garden setting — we often suggest mounting it on a rendered or brick boundary wall where it can reflect planting and open up a sense of depth. It works beautifully between flower borders or above a low bench. Indoors, the narrow 47.5 cm width lets it slot into spaces that wider mirrors cannot reach: a slim hallway, an alcove beside a fireplace, or a landing wall. Because the base is flat, you can also lean it against a wall at floor level for a relaxed, contemporary look in a bedroom or dining room. The distressed black frame pairs well with exposed brickwork, warm metallics, and natural wood furniture — a large full length mirror in a dark finish that anchors lighter décor without overpowering it.
Hanging & Installation
The mirror has two keyhole fixings on the back, so you simply hook it onto two screws set at the correct centres — no wire, string, or chain should be used. At 17 kg it is a substantial piece, so we recommend a two-person lift when positioning it. Wall screws and rawl plugs are not included; choose fixings appropriate to your wall type — heavy-duty rawl plugs for masonry, or toggle bolts for stud walls. If you plan to hang it outdoors, ensure the screws and plugs you select are rated for exterior use and that the wall surface can bear the weight comfortably.
