Built for the garden, loved indoors too
This arch window mirror pairs a cathedral-pointed silhouette with a weathered metal frame, creating the illusion of a reclaimed church window wherever you place it. Part of our Arscott Collection range, a collection that sells consistently well with our garden and interior customers looking for characterful outdoor pieces.
Design & Materials
The frame is constructed from steel with a deliberately distressed finish — a cool grey base layered with irregular patches of warm, brassy gold that catch the light and shift in tone depending on the angle. Up close, the surface has a slightly rough, oxidised texture that evokes genuine age rather than factory uniformity. The arch window pane design divides the mirror into a grid of rectangular panels below and elegant lancet-shaped panes at the pointed top, echoing the tracery found in Gothic architecture. Each pane holds a separate piece of clear mirror glass, giving the piece real structural depth. The back is finished with a plastic sheet backing board for added rigidity. In our experience, this mix of grey and gold tones sits comfortably alongside both warm and cool palettes — from exposed brick and timber to painted render and contemporary dark walls.
Size & Placement
At 114 cm tall and 50 cm wide, this metal arch wall mirror is a genuinely versatile size. It is tall enough to serve as a focal point on a garden fence or exterior wall without needing additional decoration around it, yet narrow enough to slot into a gap between windows or beside a doorway. Outdoors, position it to reflect planting, sky, or a seating area — the mirrored panes bounce light and greenery back into the garden, making compact spaces feel more open. Indoors, it works beautifully as a hallway piece, above a console table, or leaned against a wall thanks to its flat bottom edge. The grey-and-gold finish pairs naturally with decorative and industrial-style interiors, complementing exposed metalwork, reclaimed wood, and neutral stone tones. If you are looking for metal garden wall art that doubles as a functional mirror, this piece covers both roles well.
Hanging & Installation
The mirror has two keyhole fixings on the back, so you simply hook it onto two screws already set in your wall — no wire or chain is needed, and these should not be used. At 12 kg it has real substance, so we recommend a two-person lift when positioning it. Wall screws and rawl plugs are not included; choose fixings appropriate for your wall type. For masonry or brick — the most common outdoor surface — standard masonry anchors with a 5 mm screw head will work. For indoor stud walls, toggle bolts or heavy-duty plasterboard fixings are a safer option. Take a moment to check that both screws are level before hanging; with a paned design like this, any tilt shows quickly against the grid lines.
