This small black wall mirror pairs bold contrast with clean, geometric lines — a combination that lifts neutral walls and anchors darker schemes with equal confidence. A steady performer in our Wall Mirrors line-up, chosen repeatedly by customers looking for contemporary frameless styling with real visual depth.
Design & Materials
The frame is built from alternating strips of clear bevelled mirror and black glass, layered to create a stepped, three-dimensional border. Each strip catches the light at a slightly different angle, producing subtle shifts in tone as you move around the room. The black glass sections have a rich, glossy finish that reads almost lacquered, while the clear mirrored strips add brightness and a sense of openness. Corners meet with precision-mitred joints, and the whole frame sits on a solid hardwood backing lined with black felt to protect your wall surface. The central mirror panel is also bevelled, adding one more clean edge detail to the overall design. In our experience, this interplay of black and silver glass gives the piece a distinctly art deco feel that works just as well in a modern geometric scheme.
Size & Placement
At 68 cm tall and 56 cm wide, this rectangular mirror sits comfortably in spaces where a larger piece would overwhelm. It works particularly well above a console table in a hallway, over a bedside unit, or centred above a bathroom sink. The portrait orientation is the most natural fit for narrow walls and alcoves, but the frame’s dual-mount design means you can also hang it landscape — useful above a wider piece of furniture such as a chest of drawers. With a depth of just 1.6 cm, the profile stays close to the wall and won’t protrude into doorways or tight corridors. If you have a flat surface nearby, note that the flat bottom edge also allows this small rectangular wall mirror to lean safely against a wall on a mantelpiece or deep shelf.
Hanging & Installation
This mirror arrives fitted with four D-loops on the back, positioned so you can hang it in either portrait or landscape. Simply align your wall screws with the corresponding D-loop centres and hang the mirror directly — no wire or chain should be used. At 8 kg, it is manageable for one person to lift, though having a second pair of hands to hold the mirror steady while you mark drill points makes the job easier and more precise. Use rawl plugs suited to your wall type: standard plastic plugs for solid masonry, or specialist plasterboard fixings if you are mounting on a stud wall. Wall screws and rawl plugs are not included.
For a clean, flush-wall finish, we recommend pairing this mirror with our heavy-duty mirror fittings kit — a hook-and-loop back-plate system designed to sit flat against solid frames.
