This extra large frameless wall mirror pairs generous proportions with a clean, all-glass aesthetic — the kind of piece that opens up a room without adding visual clutter. Part of our Amesbury Collection range, a collection that sells consistently well with our hallway and living-room customers.
Design & Materials
The defining feature here is the wide bevelled border that frames the central mirror plate. Rather than a traditional wooden or metal surround, the bevel itself creates the frame — four angled mirrored panels are mitred together and finished with a slim silver-toned outer lip that is barely visible from the front. The close-up detail reveals the precision of each mitred corner, where the bevelled strips meet at a clean 45-degree join. Behind the glass, a hardwood subframe and wood-based backing board give the piece its rigidity and keep the weight distributed evenly — important at 20 kg. The overall effect is bright, contemporary, and deliberately understated, making this large silver wall mirror a natural partner for modern, minimalist, or Scandinavian-inspired interiors.
Size & Placement
At 172 cm tall and 111 cm wide, this is a genuinely extra large rectangular wall mirror — close to full-length in portrait orientation, and wide enough to serve as a commanding focal point when hung landscape above a sofa, sideboard, or mantelpiece. In our experience, a modern large wall mirror of this scale works best on a wall that is at least 140 cm wide (portrait) or 130 cm tall (landscape), leaving breathing room on either side. Because the base sits flat, you can also lean it against a wall as an extra large leaning wall mirror — a popular look in bedrooms, dressing areas, and open-plan living spaces where you want a full-length reflection without committing to permanent fixings. The depth is just 4 cm, so it sits close to the wall whether hung or leaned.
Hanging & Installation
Four D-loops are pre-fitted to the back of the frame, positioned so you can hang this mirror in either portrait or landscape orientation. Line your wall screws up with the centre of the corresponding D-loops and hang the mirror directly — do not use string, wire, or chain. At 20 kg, we recommend a two-person lift when positioning the mirror, and you should use fixings rated for your wall type (solid masonry, plasterboard with toggles, or similar). Wall screws and rawl plugs are not included.
For a clean, flush-wall finish, we recommend pairing this mirror with our heavy-duty mirror fittings kit — a hook-and-loop back-plate system designed to sit flat against solid frames.
