Built for the garden, equally at home indoors
This large black round wall mirror brings a bold, pared-back presence to any setting. A recent addition to our Tavistarc Collection range, it was chosen for its versatile indoor-outdoor construction and the quiet confidence of its satin-black steel frame. Whether mounted on a timber fence to open up a courtyard or hung above a contemporary fireplace, the clean circular silhouette draws the eye without competing with surrounding décor.
Design & Materials
The frame is constructed from steel with a satin-black powder-coat finish — smooth to the touch, with a subtle low-sheen quality that avoids the fingerprint-magnet shine of gloss paint. At roughly 2.5 cm wide, the frame reads as a fine, unbroken ring that lets the mirror glass do the talking. A close look reveals a neat double-step profile along the outer edge, adding just enough depth to give the frame architectural definition without tipping into ornate territory. The glass itself is clear and unbevelled, delivering crisp reflections, while a plastic sheet backing board protects the rear and makes the mirror suitable for outdoor use. In our experience, this type of satin-black metal finish pairs effortlessly with industrial, modern, and plain interiors — and it sits just as comfortably against natural wood or greenery in a garden.
Size & Placement
Measuring 100 cm high by 105 cm wide with a depth of just 3 cm, this is a large round black wall mirror that commands attention without overwhelming a space. It weighs 10 kg — substantial enough to feel well-made, yet manageable with two people during installation. The flat bottom edge is a practical detail: it allows the mirror to lean securely against a wall on a mantelpiece, console table, or shelf if you prefer not to fix it permanently. Outdoors, we often suggest mounting it centrally on a fence panel or garden wall where it can reflect foliage and sky, creating the illusion of extra depth in a compact courtyard or patio. Indoors, it works particularly well above a fireplace, along a hallway, or as a focal point in an open-plan living area. The round metal wall mirror shape softens the straight lines of modern furniture and contrasts nicely against both dark-toned feature walls and lighter, neutral schemes.
Hanging & Installation
The mirror has one keyhole fixing on the top rail at the back for portrait hanging, so you simply hook it onto a screw driven into the wall — no wire, string, or chain is needed. At 10 kg, we recommend asking a second person to help position and lift the mirror into place. Wall screws and rawl plugs are not included; choose fixings appropriate to your wall type, whether solid masonry, plasterboard, or timber. For outdoor mounting on fence panels, stainless-steel or weather-resistant screws will help the fixing last as long as the mirror itself.
