This gold ornate arch mirror brings classical presence to any room it enters. A steady performer in our Wall Mirrors line-up — chosen repeatedly by customers looking for ornate, traditional character — it pairs a generous reflective surface with rich decorative detailing that lifts a space without overwhelming it.
Design & Materials
The frame is constructed from steel finished in a warm, antiqued gold tone that catches the light with a soft lustre. Running the full perimeter is a fine beaded border — small, evenly spaced spheres that give the edge a refined, tactile texture reminiscent of baroque craftsmanship. At the crown, a shell crest cartouche rises above the arch, flanked by scrolling leaves and small rosette flowers. This ornamental top piece turns a simple arched metal wall mirror into a genuine focal point.
The glass is bevelled, adding a subtle prismatic edge that frames your reflection cleanly. In our experience, the combination of the warm gold metalwork and bevelled glass gives this piece a depth of character that reads richer in person than in photographs.
Size & Placement
At 102 cm tall and 80 cm wide (3 cm deep), this is a substantial ornate gold overmantle mirror that fills the wall space above a standard fireplace without looking cramped. The arch profile and decorative crest add visual height beyond the frame, so allow a few extra centimetres of clearance above.
We often suggest this for living rooms above a mantelpiece, where the gold finish picks up candlelight beautifully. It also works above a hallway console table or dining-room sideboard. The flat base means it can lean against a wall on a deep shelf — a relaxed, layered look that suits period and eclectic interiors. Style-wise, it sits comfortably alongside baroque and vintage décor, but the slim beaded frame keeps it from feeling heavy, so it works in transitional rooms that blend traditional and modern elements too.
Hanging & Installation
The mirror has two keyhole fixings on the back, so you simply hook it onto two screws positioned at the correct spacing. At 14 kg, it is a solid piece — a two-person lift is sensible for safe positioning and marking. Use fixings appropriate to your wall type: standard wall plugs and screws for solid masonry, or heavy-duty plasterboard anchors for stud walls. Wall screws and rawl plugs are not included. Do not use string, wire, or chain to hang this mirror — the keyhole brackets are designed to sit directly over screw heads for a flush, stable fit.
