Built for the garden, equally at home indoors
This grey arch garden mirror pairs a classic arched silhouette with delicate vine-scroll metalwork, creating a piece that feels organic and quietly decorative wherever you place it. A recent addition to our Lympstone Collection range, it was chosen for its versatile indoor-outdoor appeal and its ability to sit comfortably in both traditional and contemporary settings.
Design & Materials
The frame is constructed from steel with a hand-applied antiqued grey finish that gives it a weathered, time-worn character — up close, you can see subtle tonal variation where lighter and darker grey tones overlap across the metalwork. Two symmetrical vine stems rise from the base, curling outward with sculpted leaves and scrolled tendrils that cross and intertwine across the mirror face. A central vertical bar and the arched outer rail divide the glass into two panels, evoking the look of a garden gate or chapel window. The glass itself is clear and un-bevelled, allowing the ironwork overlay to take centre stage. A plastic sheet backing board protects the rear. In our experience, this style of metal garden wall decoration bridges the gap between ornate and understated — the scrollwork adds interest without overwhelming the space around it.
Size & Placement
At 80 cm tall and 46 cm wide, this is a compact arch mirror that fits neatly onto a garden wall, fence panel, or sheltered patio area without dominating the view. Outdoors, it works beautifully mounted among climbing plants or beside a doorway, where it catches light and reflects greenery to make the space feel larger. Indoors, we often suggest this for hallways, above a console table, or in a downstairs cloakroom — any spot where you want a decorative focal point that does not require a large wall. The flat bottom edge also means it can lean against a wall on a shelf or mantelpiece if you prefer not to drill. It pairs well with other metal garden wall art and sits naturally alongside stone, brick, and rendered surfaces. For a cohesive look indoors, consider placing it against a soft neutral wall where the antiqued grey tones can stand out.
Hanging & Installation
The mirror has a single keyhole fixing on the top rail at the back, designed for portrait hanging — simply hook it onto a screw fixed into your wall. At 7.5 kg, it is a manageable weight for one person to hang, though having someone steady the frame while you position it is always helpful. Use wall fixings appropriate for your wall type — a standard rawl plug and screw for masonry, or a heavy-duty plasterboard anchor for stud walls. Wall screws and rawl plugs are not included. Important: do not use string, wire, or chain to hang this mirror. For outdoor installation, stainless-steel or weather-resistant fixings are recommended to prevent corrosion over time.
