Built for the garden, equally at home indoors
This round black industrial mirror pairs a clean circular silhouette with a bold nine-panel grid, creating the look of a porthole or factory window. A recent addition to our Exmouth Collection range, it was chosen for its versatility — equally suited to a sunny courtyard wall and a contemporary interior.
Design & Materials
The frame is constructed from steel, finished in a matte black coating that gives it a crisp, understated industrial edge. Flat metal bars divide the mirror glass into nine roughly equal panes arranged in a three-by-three grid, mimicking the glazing bars of a Crittall-style window. The bars sit flush against the glass rather than raised, keeping the profile slim at just 2 cm deep. A plastic sheet backing board seals the rear, protecting the silvering from moisture — an important detail for a mirror rated for outdoor use. The frame width is approximately 2.5 cm, thin enough to let the glass dominate while providing a defined black border. In our experience, this kind of window-pane design works especially well when you want a garden mirror that looks architectural rather than purely decorative.
Size & Placement
At 80 cm in diameter, this is a comfortably sized round metal wall mirror — large enough to reflect a generous portion of sky or greenery in a garden setting without overwhelming a smaller patio or courtyard wall. Mounted on brickwork surrounded by climbing plants or topiary, the grid catches and fragments the garden behind you, creating a trompe-l’œil effect that adds depth and interest. Indoors, the black round wall mirror suits hallways, living rooms, and dining areas where you want a focal point with an industrial feel. It pairs naturally with exposed brickwork, concrete finishes, and dark metal furniture, though the simple geometry also works well against softer schemes — think muted grey walls or pale plaster. Position it at eye level on a feature wall, or slightly higher to reflect overhead light and open up a compact room.
Hanging & Installation
The mirror comes fitted with two keyhole fixings on the back, so hanging is straightforward: simply drive two screws into your wall at the correct spacing and hook the mirror onto them. Do not use string, wire, or chain. Wall screws and rawl plugs are not included, so choose fixings appropriate to your wall type — standard wall plugs and screws for masonry, or suitable cavity fixings for stud walls. At 6 kg, this is a manageable weight for one person to hang, though having a second pair of hands to check alignment before tightening is always helpful. If you are mounting outdoors, ensure the screws and plugs you select are rust-resistant to match the mirror’s own weather-tolerant construction.
