This irregular shape mirror draws its outline from a single, elongated water drop — wider and rounder at one end, tapering to a gentle point at the other. A steady performer in our Wall Mirrors line-up, it’s chosen repeatedly by customers looking for something sculptural yet understated.
Design & Materials
The frameless construction keeps the focus on the mirror’s organic silhouette. A slim black edge — just visible in profile — traces the perimeter, giving the glass a clean, defined finish without the visual weight of a conventional frame. Behind the glass sits a hardwood backing board finished in a plastic veneer, which adds rigidity and helps protect against moisture damage. The glass itself is clear and unbevelled, offering a crisp, undistorted reflection that suits the mirror’s pared-back, modern aesthetic. In our experience, this kind of drop shape mirror works particularly well when displayed against light, natural-toned walls where its outline can read as a piece of wall art.
Size & Placement
At 120 cm tall and 45 cm wide in portrait orientation, this raindrop mirror is large enough to serve as a genuine focal point without overwhelming a wall. Hang it vertically beside a wardrobe or above a narrow console table in a hallway, and the tapering silhouette will draw the eye upward, making the ceiling feel higher. Rotate it to landscape and the same mirror becomes a wide, organic accent above a sideboard or low media unit — a large modern mirror for a wall that deserves more than a simple rectangle. The 2 cm depth keeps the profile slim and unobtrusive, while the 8 kg weight means it sits securely once mounted without requiring specialist fixings. Because the shape is irregular, we often suggest this for rooms that already feature clean-lined furniture; the contrast between structured pieces and the mirror’s fluid form creates a layered, contemporary look.
Hanging & Installation
Four D-loops are fitted to the back of the mirror, positioned to allow both portrait and landscape hanging. Line up your wall screws with the corresponding D-loop centres and hang the mirror directly — do not use string, wire, or chain, as the weight and shape require firm, flush contact with the wall. Wall screws and rawl plugs are not included, so choose fixings appropriate to your wall type: standard plugs and screws for solid masonry, or specialist plasterboard fixings for stud walls. At 8 kg, one person can manage the lift, but having a second pair of hands to mark and level the fixing points makes the job quicker and more accurate.
For a clean, flush-wall finish, we recommend pairing this mirror with our heavy-duty mirror fittings kit — a hook-and-loop back-plate system designed to sit flat against solid frames.
