Built for the garden, equally at home indoors
This large cross pattern grid mirror is one of the most commanding pieces in our collection — a near two-metre disc of clear glass framed by industrial-style steel bars that evoke a circular factory window. A recent addition to our Tavistarc Collection range, it was chosen for its ability to transform blank walls and large interior spaces with a single, confident gesture.
Design & Materials
The frame is constructed from steel with a smooth, satin-black powder-coat finish that sits between matte and semi-gloss. Two vertical and two horizontal bars divide the glass into nine panes — eight outer sections shaped by the curve of the frame and a central rectangle — creating the classic windowpane grid. Up close, the metalwork is neatly welded with a slim 2.5 cm profile, giving the mirror a streamlined, modern edge. The glass is clear and un-bevelled, offering crisp reflections, while the weatherproof construction means rain, frost, and UV won’t compromise the finish. In our experience, this style bridges the gap between bold industrial character and the softer feel of a large round black wall mirror.
Size & Placement
At 180 cm tall and 190 cm wide, this is a genuinely extra large round mirror for wall display — roughly the footprint of a double bed. It needs a wall that can accommodate it both physically and visually: a rendered garden wall, a bare-brick feature, or the end wall of an open-plan living area. Outdoors, position it where it can catch the sky or reflect planting; trees and clouds moving within the grid panes add remarkable depth to a courtyard or terrace. The flat base means it can also lean securely against a wall — a practical option for restaurants, boutique hotels, or event spaces. Indoors, a large black round wall mirror of this scale pairs naturally with exposed brick, dark timber, and brushed-metal furnishings, and works best where ceilings are high enough to let it breathe.
Hanging & Installation
The mirror has two keyhole fixings on the back, so you simply hook it onto two screws at the correct spacing. At 30 kg this is a substantial piece — a two-person lift is essential. For masonry walls, heavy-duty wall plugs and coach screws are ideal; for stud walls, fix directly into the timber studs or use plasterboard anchors rated for the load. Wall screws and rawl plugs are not included — use fixings suitable for your wall type. Do not use string, wire, or chain to hang this mirror.
