Part of our Cheriton Collection range, a collection that sells consistently well with our living room and hallway customers — this large decorative wall mirror pairs a richly detailed gold frame with crisp bevelled glass to create a focal point that feels both classic and generous in scale.
Design & Materials
The frame is built from hardwood and casting resin, finished in a warm, antiqued gold tone with a subtle lustre that catches the light without appearing overly glossy. Up close, you can see layers of texture: a ribbed inner moulding bordered by a delicately carved scroll pattern along the outer edge, giving the frame real visual depth. At approximately 6 cm wide, the profile is substantial enough to read as ornate yet neat enough to avoid overwhelming the glass. The mirror itself is bevelled — a gently angled edge around the perimeter that adds a refined, light-catching border between frame and reflection. Backing is a solid wood-based board, keeping the overall construction rigid and durable at this size.
Size & Placement
At 172 cm tall and 111 cm wide, this is a genuinely large gold wall mirror that commands attention without dominating a standard room. Hung in landscape above a sofa or mantelpiece, it fills the kind of wide wall space that smaller pieces struggle to anchor — in our experience, anything above 100 cm in width tends to balance well over a three-seater sofa, and at 111 cm this mirror sits right in that sweet spot. In portrait orientation it works beautifully as a full-length leaner; the flat bottom edge lets you rest it securely against a wall in a bedroom, dressing area, or hallway. Because the frame leans towards an antique gold aesthetic, it pairs naturally with warm neutrals, dark wood furniture, and period-style interiors, though it also creates a pleasing contrast against cooler grey or sage-green walls for a more contemporary feel.
Hanging & Installation
This mirror arrives fitted with four D-loops on the back — two positioned for landscape hanging and two for portrait — so you can choose whichever orientation suits your space. Position your wall screws to align with the centre of the corresponding D-loops and hang the mirror directly; do not use string, wire, or chain. At 15 kg, a two-person lift is strongly recommended when positioning and mounting. Wall screws and rawl plugs are not included, so use fixings appropriate for your wall type — plasterboard requires specialist anchors, while solid masonry will take standard plugs and screws. If you are unsure, a local handyperson or installer can advise on the right fixings for your wall.
For a clean, flush-wall finish, we recommend pairing this mirror with our heavy-duty mirror fittings kit — a hook-and-loop back-plate system designed to sit flat against solid frames.
