This large silver ornate mirror makes an immediate impression, combining generous proportions with a deeply sculpted frame that catches and plays with light across every surface. Part of our Bossington Collection range, a collection that sells consistently well with our full length mirror customers.
Design & Materials
The frame is constructed from hardwood and casting resin, allowing for the intricate level of relief work visible across the entire surround. Scrolling acanthus leaves, shell motifs, and floral rosettes cluster at each corner, while rope-twist and egg-and-dart mouldings run along the rails — layers of decorative detail that reference classical baroque and Victorian craftsmanship. The silver finish has a soft, lightly antiqued lustre rather than a high-shine chrome tone, giving it a warmth that sits comfortably alongside both cool grey palettes and warmer neutral schemes. Bevelled glass adds a subtle edge detail that frames reflections with a clean, polished line. The frame itself is approximately 6 cm wide, providing a substantial border without overwhelming the generous mirror plate.
Size & Placement
At 175 cm tall and 89 cm wide, this is a true full length silver wall mirror — tall enough for a head-to-toe view when hung in portrait, and broad enough to serve as a dramatic overmantle or horizontal feature when turned to landscape. In a bedroom, it works well leaned against a wall beside a wardrobe or chest of drawers, creating an effortlessly styled dressing area. In a hallway, hanging it portrait gives a last-glance check point and opens up even a narrow run of wall. For living rooms, landscape orientation above a console table or fireplace turns it into a decorative focal point that bounces light deep into the space. The rectangular profile and versatile orientation mean this large decorative mirror fits rooms where you need presence without committing to an oversized floor mirror. We often suggest this for period properties or interiors that lean into vintage and antique styling, though the silver tone keeps it modern enough for contemporary settings too.
Hanging & Installation
This mirror comes fitted with four D-loops on the back, positioned so you can hang it in either portrait or landscape without re-fitting any hardware. Position your wall screws to line up with the centre of the corresponding D-loops, then hang the mirror directly — do not use string, wire, or chain. At 25 kg, it is a solid piece; we recommend a two-person lift for positioning and hanging. Use fixings rated for the weight and suitable for your wall type — heavy-duty wall plugs and screws for masonry, or appropriate plasterboard anchors if fixing into stud walls. Wall screws and rawl plugs are not included. The flat bottom edge also means you can lean this mirror against a wall if you prefer a floor-standing arrangement; just ensure it rests on a stable, level surface.
For a clean, flush-wall finish, we recommend pairing this mirror with our heavy-duty mirror fittings kit — a hook-and-loop back-plate system designed to sit flat against solid frames.
