This large silver leaner mirror makes an immediate impression — nearly six feet tall with an intricately carved frame that catches the light from every angle. Drawn from our Bossington Collection, a line we return to often when customers ask for ornate, classically styled pieces.
Design & Materials
The frame is built from hardwood and casting resin, giving every swag, shell, and acanthus-leaf detail a crisp, dimensional quality you can feel as well as see. A hand-applied silver finish carries subtle tonal variation — cooler in the recesses, brighter across the raised motifs — creating a look that feels genuinely antique rather than flat or factory-uniform. Rope-twist edging, beaded moulding, and elaborate floral corner cartouches layer texture across the full 6 cm profile. Behind all that detail sits a bevelled mirror plate: the angled edge softens incoming light and adds a quiet sparkle that complements the ornate silver frame beautifully. A wood-based backing board closes off the rear for a clean, finished construction.
Size & Placement
At 185 cm tall and 123 cm wide, this is an extra large decorative wall mirror with real visual weight. Propped on its flat base against a bedroom or living-room wall, it opens the space dramatically and provides a full-length reflection — perfect as a dressing mirror or a focal point behind a console table. In our experience, a piece this size works best on a solid wall with clear floor space in front, so the ornate detailing has room to breathe. Turned to landscape orientation above a fireplace or sideboard, it doubles as a vintage large wall mirror that anchors the entire room. The silver tone pairs naturally with baroque, Victorian, and shabby-chic interiors, though it also provides a striking contrast in more pared-back modern schemes.
Hanging & Installation
Four D-loops are pre-fitted to the back — two positioned for portrait hanging, two for landscape — so you can choose the orientation that suits your space. Position your wall screws to line up with the centre of the corresponding D-loops, then hang the mirror directly. Do not use string, wire, or chain. At 35 kg this is a substantial piece; we recommend a two-person lift for both safety and precise positioning, and you should use heavy-duty fixings appropriate to your wall type (solid masonry, dot-and-dab, or stud). Wall screws and rawl plugs are not included.
For a clean, flush-wall finish, we recommend pairing this mirror with our heavy-duty mirror fittings kit — a hook-and-loop back-plate system designed to sit flat against solid frames.
