Built for the garden, equally at home indoors
This black arch windowpane mirror pairs a bold cathedral-top frame with a classic grid of fifteen panes, creating the illusion of an elegant period window wherever you place it. A recent addition to our Otterton Collection range, it was chosen for its versatile indoor-outdoor construction and the strong architectural presence that metal window mirrors bring to both gardens and interiors.
Design & Materials
The frame is constructed from steel with a matte black powder-coat finish — clean, unfussy, and built to handle the elements. Three columns of five panes sit beneath a gracefully curved cathedral arch, with slim metal glazing bars (roughly 2.5 cm wide) dividing each section. The result is unmistakably industrial in character yet softer than a straight-edged alternative, thanks to the sweeping arch and subtle ogee shoulders at the top. Clear mirror glass fills every pane, giving bright, undistorted reflections. A plastic sheet backing board seals the rear and helps protect against moisture ingress when hung outdoors.
Size & Placement
At 104 cm tall and 62 cm wide, this is a generously sized wall mirror that commands attention without overwhelming a space. In the garden, we often suggest mounting it on a brick or rendered wall between planting beds — positioned at standing eye level, it reflects foliage and sky to create a convincing sense of depth. It works beautifully against warm brick, as shown, or on a dark-painted fence where the black frame virtually disappears. Indoors, the arch window mirror sits well above a console table in a hallway, over a sideboard in a dining room, or on a feature wall in a living space with teal, charcoal, or neutral tones. With a flat bottom edge, you also have the option of leaning it against a wall on a deep shelf or mantelpiece for a more relaxed look. If your décor leans towards industrial or modern styling, the black metal frame pairs naturally with exposed brickwork, concrete, and dark timber furniture.
Hanging & Installation
The mirror weighs 12 kg and comes with a single keyhole fixing on the top rail at the back, designed for portrait hanging — simply hook it over a screw in the wall. Do not use string, wire, or chain. Wall screws and rawl plugs are not included, so choose fixings appropriate to your wall type: heavy-duty rawl plugs for masonry, or suitable plasterboard anchors for stud walls. At this weight, we recommend a second pair of hands when lifting it into position, particularly if you are reaching above head height on a garden wall.
