This ornate gold wall mirror is a consistent bestseller in our wall mirrors range — and it’s easy to see why. With its deeply carved frame and warm antique-gold finish, it brings an immediate sense of occasion to any room without overwhelming the space.
Design & Materials
The frame is built from a hardwood core overlaid with cast resin detailing, giving it the sculptural depth you’d expect from a hand-carved piece at a fraction of the weight. Each corner carries a bold floral cartouche, while the mid-rail sections repeat the motif on a smaller scale. Between these accents, a fine cross-hatch lattice texture runs the full length of the moulding, adding visual interest from every angle.
The finish sits somewhere between burnished gold and aged bronze — darker in the recesses, lighter across the raised surfaces. It reads as authentically antique rather than bright or brassy, making it a natural fit alongside vintage furniture and warm wood tones. The bevelled mirror glass catches the light at the edges, lending a subtle frame-within-a-frame effect that lifts the whole piece.
Size & Placement
At 112 cm tall and 81 cm wide, this is a generous decorative wall mirror in gold without being difficult to position. Hung portrait, it sits comfortably above a console table or hallway bench — the proportions in the lifestyle image show exactly that kind of pairing. Turned landscape, it makes a handsome overmantle mirror above a standard fireplace, or a focal point for a dining-room wall.
The frame itself is approximately 6 cm wide, so allow for 93 cm × 62 cm of total wall coverage when planning your space. We often suggest this mirror for period living rooms and traditional hallways, though customers tend to pair it with more contemporary furnishings too — the antiqued gold tone bridges old and new surprisingly well. Because it has a flat bottom edge, you can also lean it on a mantelpiece or deep shelf if you’d rather not drill.
Hanging & Installation
Four D-loops are pre-fitted to the back of the frame — two positioned for portrait hanging, two for landscape — so you can choose your orientation on the day. Simply drive your wall screws to align with the relevant pair of D-loops and hang the mirror directly onto them. Do not use string, wire, or chain; the frame is designed to sit flush against the wall on its fixings.
At 10 kg, this is a solid piece. We recommend a two-person lift for positioning, and strong fixings appropriate to your wall type — heavy-duty rawl plugs for masonry, or specialist plasterboard anchors for stud walls. Wall screws and rawl plugs are not included.
For a clean, flush-wall finish, we recommend pairing this mirror with our heavy-duty mirror fittings kit — a hook-and-loop back-plate system designed to sit flat against solid frames.
