Built for the garden, equally at home indoors
This round mirror with gold metal frame pairs generous proportions with a pared-back, modern silhouette that works just as well mounted on a garden fence as it does above a fireplace. A recent addition to our Tavistarc Collection range, it was chosen for its subtly distinctive flat-edged profile and versatile indoor-outdoor construction.
Design & Materials
The frame is pressed steel finished in a warm, matte gold tone — not brash or overly shiny, but a rich, earthy gold that sits comfortably alongside both natural garden materials and contemporary interiors. In our experience, this kind of understated metallic finish pairs well with dark-stained timber fences, grey rendered walls, and neutral living room palettes. A subtle groove detail runs around the face of the frame, adding a fine line of shadow that lifts an otherwise plain profile. The base of the circle is very slightly flattened, giving the mirror a distinctive near-round silhouette and allowing it to lean steadily if needed. Behind the glass sits a plastic sheet backing board, which helps protect the mirror from moisture and debris — an important consideration for any gold round wall mirror intended for outdoor placement. The glass itself is clear and unbevelled, keeping the look clean and modern.
Size & Placement
At 100 cm tall and 105 cm wide, this is a large round gold wall mirror that delivers real visual impact without feeling overwhelming. Mounted on a garden fence or exterior wall, it reflects greenery and sky to create the impression of depth and space — a trick we often suggest for smaller courtyard gardens or shaded patios. Indoors, the proportions sit beautifully above a standard mantelpiece or console table, and the gold metal round mirror frame picks up the warmth of candlelight and table lamps in the evening. With a depth of just 3 cm and a weight of 10 kg, it sits relatively close to the wall and is manageable for two people to position. The flat base means the mirror can also lean against a wall on a deep shelf or mantel for a relaxed, gallery-style arrangement.
Hanging & Installation
The mirror has a single keyhole fixing on the top rail at the back, designed for portrait hanging — simply hook it onto a screw anchored in your wall. Do not use string, wire, or chain to hang this mirror. Wall screws and rawl plugs are not included, so please choose fixings suited to your wall type: standard rawl plugs and screws for masonry, or appropriate plasterboard fixings for stud walls. At 10 kg, two people should handle the lift and placement for safety and accuracy. If you are mounting outdoors on timber fencing, ensure the screw is driven into a solid rail or post rather than a thin slat.
