Built for the garden, equally at home indoors
This black industrial metal window mirror pairs a wide, landscape-format silhouette with a softly arched top, creating the illusion of an old factory window wherever you place it. Part of our Barrington Collection range, a collection that sells consistently well with our garden and living-room customers, it brings architectural character without overwhelming the surrounding space.
Design & Materials
The frame is constructed from steel, finished in a smooth satin black that sits comfortably between matte and semi-gloss — understated enough for modern interiors, robust enough for exposed outdoor walls. Eighteen individual mirror panes are divided by slim glazing bars approximately 2.5 cm wide, replicating the look of a traditional industrial window. The glass is clear and unbevelled, keeping reflections crisp, while a plastic sheet backing board seals each pane from behind. At 10 kg the mirror feels solid in the hand, and the steel construction means it can handle the damp and temperature shifts of a British garden without warping.
Size & Placement
Measuring 65 cm tall, 90 cm wide and 3 cm deep, this is a generously proportioned wall mirror that reads as a landscape panel — ideal for mounting above a fireplace, console table or sideboard where a portrait shape would look too narrow. In our experience, a mirror of this width works particularly well centred over a standard UK mantelpiece, giving the room a focal point that also bounces light. Outdoors, try it on a brick garden wall or timber fence to open up a smaller courtyard; the arch top echoes the curves of climbing plants and trellis arches beautifully. The flat bottom edge means you could also rest it on a deep shelf or lean it against a wall at floor level for a relaxed, layered look. Customers tend to pair this with raw-wood furniture, exposed brickwork and dark metal fixtures — anywhere the industrial aesthetic feels at home.
Hanging & Installation
The mirror has two keyhole fixings on the back, so you simply hook it onto two screws driven into your wall at the correct spacing. Because the piece weighs 10 kg and spans 90 cm, we recommend a second pair of hands when lifting it into position. Make sure you use fixings suited to your wall type — heavy-duty wall plugs for masonry, or appropriate anchors for plasterboard and stud walls. Wall screws and rawl plugs are not included. Do not use string, wire or chain to hang this mirror; the keyhole slots provide a far more secure, flush-to-wall hold.
