Built for the garden, equally at home indoors
This black metal full length wall mirror pairs a clean-lined steel grid with generous proportions, giving you all the presence of a traditional window mirror in a format that suits both interior walls and sheltered outdoor spaces. Part of our Nynehead Collection range, a collection that sells consistently well with our industrial-style and garden-mirror customers.
Design & Materials
The frame is constructed from steel finished in a smooth matte black coating — up close, the profile is slim at roughly 2.5 cm wide, with gently rounded edges where the vertical and horizontal glazing bars intersect. Ten rectangular panes of clear, unbevelled glass sit within the grid, each separated by those characteristic bars to create the classic Crittall-style look. The rear is sealed with a plastic sheet backing board, adding rigidity and protecting the silvering. It is a pared-back, modern design that pairs naturally with exposed brick, pale plaster, and neutral-toned interiors, yet holds its own against greenery and weathered timber outdoors.
Size & Placement
At 150 cm tall and 60 cm wide, this is a full-length mirror that gives a head-to-toe reflection without demanding excessive wall space — we often suggest this for narrower hallways or the slim strip of wall beside a wardrobe. The flat bottom edge means you can lean it against a wall as a bedroom leaner or stand it on a patio for a garden focal point. In our experience, a large full length mirror in a black frame like this reads best when positioned where it can catch natural light and bounce it deeper into a room or courtyard. Because the mirror is rated for indoor and outdoor use, you could mount it on a garden wall or fence to create the illusion of depth in a smaller outdoor area. At only 2 cm deep and 60 cm across, it also works well hung in portrait above a console table in a living room, or landscape above a sideboard if you prefer a wider composition.
Hanging & Installation
The mirror comes with four keyhole fixings on the back, allowing you to hang it in either portrait or landscape orientation. Position your wall screws to align with the centre of each keyhole, then hook the mirror into place. Wall screws and rawl plugs are not included — use fixings appropriate for your wall type (solid masonry, plasterboard, or timber). At 15 kg, this is a substantial piece, so we recommend a two-person lift when positioning it on the wall. Do not use string, wire, or chain to hang this mirror; the keyhole system is designed for direct, flush mounting onto screws. If you plan to lean rather than hang it, rest the flat base on a stable, level surface and angle it gently against the wall.
