Built for the garden, equally at home indoors
This black industrial arched metal window mirror pairs a classic arched silhouette with a bold twelve-pane grid, creating the illusion of an iron-framed window wherever you place it. Part of our Honiton Collection range, a collection that sells consistently well with our garden and interior customers alike.
Design & Materials
The frame is constructed from steel finished in a smooth matte black coating, giving it a refined industrial look that avoids feeling heavy-handed. Slim bars — approximately 2.5 cm wide — divide the mirror into twelve individual panes: nine rectangular sections below and three shaped panels that follow the gentle curve of the arch. Each pane holds clear, unbevelled glass that delivers a bright, undistorted reflection. The back is finished with a plastic sheet backing board that shields the mirror from moisture and dust — an important detail for a piece rated for outdoor use. Up close, the frame profile is clean and slightly recessed, with a subtle channel where the bars meet the glass. It is a style we often suggest for anyone drawn to Crittall-inspired metalwork but wanting something lighter and easier to hang than a salvage piece.
Size & Placement
At 120 cm tall and 80 cm wide, this large black arch mirror commands attention without overwhelming a wall. Indoors, it works beautifully above a sideboard or console table in a hallway, or as a modern large wall mirror focal point in a living room. The flat bottom edge means you can also lean it against a wall at floor level for a relaxed, gallery feel — though wall-mounting is recommended for safety in busy spaces. Outdoors, mount it on a brick or rendered garden wall to reflect planting, sky, and light back into the space. It functions as a piece of metal garden wall art as much as a practical mirror, adding depth to courtyard gardens, patios, and walled borders. At just 1.6 cm deep, it sits almost flush against the wall, keeping the profile sleek. Weighing 12 kg, it is substantial enough to feel solid yet manageable for a two-person lift.
Hanging & Installation
The mirror comes fitted with two keyhole fixings on the back, so it hooks directly onto two screws driven into your wall — no wire, string, or chain is needed or recommended. Wall screws and rawl plugs are not included; choose fixings appropriate for your wall type. For solid brick or stone (common with garden walls), standard heavy-duty wall plugs and screws will do the job. For plasterboard or stud walls indoors, use appropriate cavity fixings rated for at least 12 kg. We recommend getting a second pair of hands to hold the mirror in position while you mark and drill — at this size it is straightforward but easier with two people. Once hung, the keyhole slots allow a small amount of lateral adjustment so you can level the mirror precisely.
