Built for the garden, equally at home indoors
This large metal garden mirror pairs generous proportions with a pared-back windowpane grid that sits comfortably in contemporary and industrial-inspired settings alike. A recent addition to our Lydeard Collection range, it was chosen for its clean lines and robust outdoor-ready construction — qualities that translate just as well to a living room or hallway.
Design & Materials
The frame is constructed from steel, finished in a smooth matt black that gives the bars a modern, understated look. Slim bars — roughly 2.5 cm wide — divide the glass into a central panel flanked by narrow side strips, with three smaller panes at top and bottom creating the classic windowpane effect. The result is a design that evokes a factory-style Crittall window without feeling fussy or over-detailed. Clear, unbevelled mirror glass sits within each section, and the back is sealed with a plastic sheet backing board to help protect against moisture when the mirror is used outdoors. In our experience, this kind of sealed backing is what separates a genuinely garden-suitable mirror from one that simply looks the part.
Size & Placement
At 180 cm tall and 110 cm wide, this is a genuinely extra large rectangular wall mirror — big enough to create an eye-catching focal point on a garden fence, boundary wall, or patio area. Positioned among planting, it will reflect greenery and sky, making a smaller outdoor space feel noticeably more open and layered. Indoors, the flat bottom means you can lean it against a wall as a full-length black metal leaner mirror in a bedroom, dressing area, or entrance hall. It also hangs in both portrait and landscape orientation, so you could mount it horizontally above a long sideboard or console table for a modern large wall mirror arrangement. At 4 cm deep and 30 kg, it has real presence without protruding awkwardly from the wall.
Hanging & Installation
Four keyhole fixings on the back let you hang this mirror in either portrait or landscape orientation. Position your wall screws to align with the centre of each keyhole, then hook the mirror on. Given the 30 kg weight, we recommend a two-person lift and fixings rated for your specific wall type — heavy-duty rawl plugs for masonry, or specialist plasterboard anchors for stud walls. Wall screws and rawl plugs are not included. Do not use string, wire, or chain to hang this mirror. If you plan to lean it, the flat base sits flush on a hard floor; placing a small non-slip pad underneath will stop any movement on tiled or wooden surfaces.
