This large wood framed mirror pairs a generous 142 × 51 cm profile with a wide hardwood frame finished in a rich, warm brown stain. Part of our Sandford Collection range, a collection that sells consistently well with our bedroom and hallway customers — it brings an honest, pared-back character that suits both rustic and contemporary interiors.
Design & Materials
The frame is constructed from solid hardwood, hand-stained to a deep conker-brown tone that allows the natural grain, knots, and subtle colour variation to show through. Each piece is unique: some boards carry prominent swirling grain patterns, others a scattering of darker knots that add depth and authenticity. The stain sits somewhere between matte and satin — not glossy, but with enough warmth to catch the light. Mitre-cut corners meet cleanly, and the frame has a flat, chunky profile roughly 3 cm wide and 4 cm deep, giving it a satisfying solidity when viewed from the side. Behind the clear mirror glass sits a wood-based backing board that keeps the piece rigid and well-protected.
Size & Placement
At 142 cm tall and 51 cm wide, this wood framed rectangular wall mirror works beautifully hung portrait-style in a hallway or bedroom, offering a near-full-length reflection without requiring a huge expanse of wall. Lean it against the wall at a slight angle for a relaxed, boutique feel — the flat bottom edge sits flush on the floor. Rotated to landscape, the same dimensions make it a natural fit above a console table, sideboard, or bedroom chest of drawers, where it opens up the room and bounces light back into darker corners. We often suggest this for bedrooms with neutral or industrial-toned décor; the warm brown timber sits particularly well against grey, white, or exposed-brick walls. It also pairs comfortably alongside other wooden furniture in oak, walnut, or reclaimed finishes without competing for attention.
Hanging & Installation
The mirror arrives fitted with four D-loops on the back of the frame, pre-positioned so you can hang it in either portrait or landscape orientation. Simply line up two wall screws with the corresponding D-loop centres and hang the mirror directly — do not use string, wire, or chain. At 10 kg it is manageable for two people to lift and position, though we recommend having a helper steady the frame while you mark your fixings. Wall screws and rawl plugs are not included; choose fixings appropriate for your wall type (solid masonry, plasterboard with stud, or plasterboard with specialist anchors).
For a clean, flush-wall finish, we recommend pairing this mirror with our heavy-duty mirror fittings kit — a hook-and-loop back-plate system designed to sit flat against solid frames.
