This rustic wood mirror brings genuine warmth and texture to any wall it sits on. Drawn from our Sandford Collection, a line we return to often when customers ask for natural, characterful wooden mirrors.
Design & Materials
The frame is built from solid hardwood planks finished in a rich dark brown stain that lets every knot, grain line, and tonal shift show through. Each piece of timber carries its own natural markings, so no two frames are identical. The wide, flat-profile planks — roughly 12 cm across — overlap at clean right-angle joints, giving the frame a sturdy, hand-crafted feel without any ornate detailing. The finish sits somewhere between matte and lightly sealed: smooth to the touch but not glossy, allowing the raw beauty of the wood to take centre stage. Behind the frame, a wood-based backing board keeps the clear mirror glass securely in place.
Size & Placement
At 122 cm tall and 91 cm wide, this is a large wood framed wall mirror with real visual presence — yet its simple rectangular shape stops it from overwhelming the room. Hung in portrait, it works beautifully above a hallway console or bedroom chest of drawers, as shown in the product images. Flip it to landscape, and it becomes a striking wood framed rectangular wall mirror above a fireplace or behind a dining sideboard. The warm brown tones pair naturally with neutral walls, exposed brick, and other earthy materials like leather and linen. In our experience, this kind of clean, rustic frame sits just as comfortably in a modern farmhouse kitchen as it does in a traditionally furnished living room. With a flat bottom edge, you also have the option of leaning it against a wall on a sturdy surface if you prefer a more relaxed, informal look.
Hanging & Installation
This mirror comes fitted with four D-loops on the back of the frame, positioned so you can hang it in either portrait or landscape orientation. Line your wall screws up with the centre of the corresponding D-loops and hang the mirror directly — do not use string, wire, or chain. At 15 kg, it has a reassuring solidity, but we’d suggest two people for lifting and positioning. Wall screws and rawl plugs are not included, so choose fixings rated for your wall type; plasterboard anchors differ significantly from masonry fixings, and getting this right is important for a mirror of this weight.
For a clean, flush-wall finish, we recommend pairing this mirror with our heavy-duty mirror fittings kit — a hook-and-loop back-plate system designed to sit flat against solid frames.
