This oak framed rectangular mirror pairs a clean rectangular silhouette with a recessed floating design that sets it apart from standard wooden wall mirrors. A steady performer in our Wall Mirrors line-up — chosen repeatedly by customers looking for understated natural warmth.
Design & Materials
Crafted from solid oak, the frame has a light, honey-toned colour with visible grain that brings genuine character without competing for attention. The profile is gently rounded at each corner, and the timber has a smooth, lightly sealed finish that lets the natural figuring speak for itself. The glass sits slightly inset from the outer edge of the frame, creating a subtle shadow line that gives the piece a modern, floating quality. The mirror glass is clear and unadorned — no bevel — keeping the overall look pared back and contemporary. In our experience, this kind of timber-forward design bridges the gap between modern and rustic interiors with ease, sitting comfortably against a white Scandi wall or within a warmer, mid-century scheme.
Size & Placement
At 100 cm tall and 70 cm wide, this is a generously sized oak wall mirror without being imposing. Hung in portrait, it works well above a console table in the hallway or over a chest of drawers in the bedroom, giving a good head-and-shoulders reflection with breathing room above and below. Flip it to landscape and it becomes an effective overmantle piece — the 70 cm width tucks neatly inside a standard UK chimney breast. With a flat bottom edge, you can also lean this wood framed rectangular wall mirror against a wall on a mantelpiece shelf or sideboard for a more relaxed, layered look. The light oak frame pairs naturally with other wooden framed mirrors and timber furniture, complementing earthy tones, soft whites, and muted greens equally well.
Hanging & Installation
The mirror comes fitted with four D-loops on the back, positioned so you can hang it in either portrait or landscape orientation. Position your wall screws to line up with the corresponding D-loops, then hang the mirror directly — do not use string, wire, or chain. At 10 kg, we recommend a two-person lift when positioning, and you should use fixings appropriate for your wall type (wall screws and rawl plugs are not included). For plasterboard, cavity fixings rated for at least 15 kg per point are advisable.
For a clean, flush-wall finish, we recommend pairing this mirror with our heavy-duty mirror fittings kit — a hook-and-loop back-plate system designed to sit flat against solid frames.
