Built for the garden, beautiful indoors too
This large garden window mirror captures the charm of a Gothic arched window, complete with opening shutters that swing wide on working hinges. Part of our Arscott Collection range, a collection that sells consistently well with our garden and outdoor customers. The distressed black metal frame, with gold tones showing through the brushwork, pairs effortlessly with brick, stone, timber fencing, and rendered walls.
Design & Materials
The frame is constructed from steel with a hand-finished distressed black coating. Up close, you can see warm gold and bronze highlights where the top layer has been deliberately worn back — a detail that gives the mirror genuine aged character rather than a flat, factory-sprayed look. The arch is divided into multiple window panes by slender glazing bars, and the upper section features two pointed Gothic arches that draw the eye upward. A working latch sits at the centre, holding the two shutter doors closed when you want a traditional window appearance. Open them outward and the hinged panels frame the mirror glass behind, adding real three-dimensional interest to a wall. The glass itself is clear and unembellished, backed by a protective plastic sheet board for outdoor durability.
Size & Placement
Measuring 140 cm high by 75 cm wide, this is a substantial arch window mirror that commands attention without overwhelming a space. In the garden, we often suggest mounting it on a boundary wall or fence panel where it can reflect planting and sky, creating the illusion of a window through to another garden. Indoors, it sits beautifully above a console table in a hallway or as a focal point in a dining room. The flat bottom edge means it can also lean against a wall if you prefer a more relaxed, freestanding look — propped on a patio or against an interior wall. At 14 kg, it has a reassuring solidity that suits exposed outdoor positions without feeling unmanageable to move into place.
Hanging & Installation
The mirror comes fitted with two keyhole fixings on the back, so installation is straightforward — simply hook it onto two screws set at the correct spacing. Do not use string, wire, or chain to hang this mirror. Wall screws and rawl plugs are not included; use fixings appropriate to your wall type, whether that is masonry, brick, or timber fencing. Given its size and 14 kg weight, we recommend a two-person lift when positioning. If you are mounting it outdoors on a garden wall, check that your fixings are rated for exterior use and can support the weight comfortably in all weather conditions.
