Built for the Garden, Loved Indoors Too
This gold metal wall mirror pairs a generous reflective surface with a crisp windowpane grid frame, creating the illusion of an extra window wherever you place it. A recent addition to our Lydeard Collection range, it is equally at home mounted on a garden wall or hung inside a living room or hallway.
Design & Materials
The frame is constructed from steel with a smooth, painted gold finish that catches the light without being overly glossy — a warm, understated tone that works well alongside both modern and industrial interiors. Slim metal bars divide the mirror into a large central panel flanked by narrower side panels at the top and bottom, giving it that distinctive windowpane silhouette. The glass itself is clear and unbevelled, keeping the overall look contemporary and unfussy. A plastic sheet backing board protects the rear, and at 2 cm deep the frame sits close to the wall for a neat, streamlined profile. We often suggest this style for anyone looking to introduce architectural detail without the visual weight of a heavily ornate frame.
Size & Placement
At 100 cm tall and 70 cm wide, this rectangular wall mirror gold frame is substantial enough to make a statement without overwhelming a standard wall. Hung portrait above a console table or sideboard, it mirrors the proportions of a sash window — a trick that opens up narrow hallways and dining rooms beautifully. Turn it landscape above a mantelpiece and it works as a modern gold wall mirror alternative to a traditional overmantle. Outdoors, mount it on a brick or rendered garden wall to reflect greenery and sky, adding depth and light to a courtyard, patio, or planted border. The mirror is rated for indoor and outdoor use, so it can stay outside year-round. With a flat bottom edge, it can also lean against a wall if you prefer not to drill — propped on a shelf or mantel it creates a relaxed, layered look. Weighing 10 kg, it is manageable for two people to position.
Hanging & Installation
The mirror has four keyhole fixings on the back, allowing you to hang it in either portrait or landscape orientation. Position your wall screws to line up with the centre of the corresponding keyholes, then hook the mirror on. Do not use string, wire, or chain to hang this mirror. Wall screws and rawl plugs are not included — use fixings suitable for your wall type. For exterior brick or stone walls, masonry anchors are the most reliable option. Given the 10 kg weight, we recommend a two-person lift when positioning the mirror at height.
