This large black leaner mirror brings quiet grandeur to a hallway, bedroom, or living space. A recent addition to our Cannington Collection range, it was chosen for its balanced blend of ornate character and understated black finish — decorative enough to draw the eye, yet restrained enough to complement a wide variety of interiors.
Design & Materials
The frame is constructed from hardwood and casting resin, finished in a high-gloss black that catches and reflects ambient light. Each corner carries a sculpted floral cartouche, while a delicate beaded moulding runs the length of every rail — details that give the mirror its antique-inspired character without overwhelming the surrounding décor. The profile is approximately 6 cm wide: substantial enough to frame the glass with presence, yet slim enough to keep the overall look refined. Inside, clear float glass delivers a crisp, undistorted reflection. In our experience, a glossy black frame like this pairs especially well with neutral walls and warm-toned wood flooring, anchoring a scheme while reflecting light back into the room.
Size & Placement
At 168 cm tall and 107 cm wide, this is a true full-length piece — tall enough for a head-to-toe reflection and wide enough to open up even a narrow space visually. The flat bottom means you can lean it securely against a wall, which is how many of our customers use a large ornate leaner mirror of this size. Propped at the end of a hallway, it draws the eye and creates a sense of depth; positioned in a bedroom, it doubles as a practical dressing mirror and a decorative focal point. If you prefer a wall-mounted look, the same dimensions make it a striking choice above a console table in landscape orientation or as a statement piece on a large living room wall in portrait. The black finish slots naturally alongside vintage furniture, antique brass hardware, and dark wood tones, though it works just as confidently against pale plaster or exposed brick.
Hanging & Installation
Four D-loops are pre-fitted to the back of the frame, positioned so you can hang the mirror in either portrait or landscape. Line your wall screws up with the centre of each D-loop and hang the mirror directly — do not use string, wire, or chain. At 18 kg, this is a two-person lift, and we recommend ensuring your fixings are rated for the wall type (solid masonry or stud). Wall screws and rawl plugs are not included, so choose fixings appropriate to your wall.
For a clean, flush-wall finish, we recommend pairing this mirror with our heavy-duty mirror fittings kit — a hook-and-loop back-plate system designed to sit flat against solid frames.
