This large gold leaner mirror brings warmth and grandeur to any room it enters. A recent addition to our Cannington Collection range, it’s a style we reach for when customers want classic elegance without an overly heavy aesthetic.
Design & Materials
The frame is built from hardwood and casting resin, finished in a rich, warm gold with a soft, brushed lustre that catches the light without appearing overly shiny. Each corner carries a generous decorative cartouche — scrolling acanthus leaves radiating from a raised central boss — while smaller ornamental motifs punctuate the midpoints of every side. A continuous beaded inner trim frames the mirror glass, adding a refined border between the moulded profile and the clear, undistorted reflection. The overall effect is unmistakably ornate yet balanced: detailed enough to stand as a focal point, restrained enough to sit comfortably alongside antique furniture, vintage textiles, or contemporary neutral schemes.
Size & Placement
At 168 cm tall and 107 cm wide, this is a genuinely large gold ornate wall mirror — tall enough for a full-length view while remaining proportionate in most rooms. The flat bottom edge means it leans securely against a wall, making it ideal at the end of a hallway, beside a wardrobe in a bedroom, or propped behind a console table in a living room. In our experience, a leaner this size works particularly well in spaces with ceilings of 2.4 metres or above, where it can reflect light and open up the room without feeling cramped. If you prefer it wall-mounted, the portrait orientation suits narrow walls and alcoves, while landscape makes it an impressive decorative mirror above a bed or sofa. The frame adds roughly 6 cm on each side, so allow a total footprint of about 107 × 168 cm when planning your space.
Hanging & Installation
Four D-loops are pre-fitted to the back of the frame, positioned so you can hang the mirror in either portrait or landscape. Align your wall screws with the centre of each D-loop and hang the mirror directly — do not use string, wire, or chain. At 18 kg, this is a substantial piece; we recommend a two-person lift for both positioning and mounting. If you’re fixing into plasterboard or stud walls, use fixings rated for the weight and wall type — heavy-duty anchors or direct-to-stud screws are safest. Wall screws and rawl plugs are not included.
For a clean, flush-wall finish, we recommend pairing this mirror with our heavy-duty mirror fittings kit — a hook-and-loop back-plate system designed to sit flat against solid frames.
