This large wall mirror with black frame pairs a generous reflective surface with an ultra-slim aluminium profile, delivering the kind of understated modern presence that lifts a room without competing with its surroundings. Part of our Arlington Collection range, a collection that sells consistently well with our bedroom and living-room customers.
Design & Materials
The frame is constructed from aluminium finished in a brushed black tone — up close you can see fine, linear striations running along the surface that give it a subtle texture and depth beyond a flat matte. At just 1.5 cm wide, the frame reads almost as a thin black border around the glass, letting the mirror itself do the talking. The glass is clear and un-bevelled, offering a crisp, undistorted reflection. Steel mounting brackets on the rear add structural rigidity without adding bulk; the overall depth is only 2 cm, so it sits nearly flush against the wall. In our experience, this kind of minimal black-framed rectangular mirror works with almost any palette — from warm oak and neutral linen to cooler grey and concrete interiors.
Size & Placement
At 174 cm tall and 110 cm wide, this is a genuinely large black framed mirror — tall enough for a full-length reflection when mounted upright, and wide enough to act as a statement piece when hung landscape above a dining table or console. In portrait orientation it makes a striking leaner mirror for a bedroom or dressing area; the flat bottom edge sits evenly on the floor, so you can simply rest it against the wall at a slight angle. Turned landscape, it serves beautifully as an overmantle alternative or behind a sofa, bouncing light across the room. The extra-large rectangular wall mirror proportions suit open-plan spaces particularly well, where a smaller piece might feel lost. If you are working with a narrower hallway, hanging it portrait adds height and the illusion of depth without eating into floor space.
Hanging & Installation
The mirror arrives fitted with four D-loops on the back, positioned so you can hang it in either portrait or landscape orientation. Line up your wall screws with the centre of the corresponding D-loops and hang the mirror directly — do not use string, wire, or chain. At 25 kg this is a substantial piece, so we recommend a two-person lift during installation and fixings rated for the weight and your wall type. For plasterboard or stud walls, toggle bolts or dedicated plasterboard anchors are advisable; solid masonry walls will take standard rawl plugs and screws. Wall screws and rawl plugs are not included.
For a clean, flush-wall finish, we recommend pairing this mirror with our heavy-duty mirror fittings kit — a hook-and-loop back-plate system designed to sit flat against solid frames.
