This large white ornate mirror combines a generous 140 × 109 cm frame with a high-gloss white finish and bevelled glass that catches the light beautifully. Part of our Monksilver Collection range, a collection that sells consistently well with our living room and hallway customers.
Design & Materials
The frame is constructed from a hardwood core with casting resin overlays, giving it the look of traditional carved wood without the weight or vulnerability to splitting. Each corner features a swept acanthus-leaf cartouche, while a fine beaded inner border runs the full perimeter, providing crisp visual definition between the ornate outer frame and the mirror glass itself. The finish is a clean, bright white gloss — smooth and even across all surfaces, including the relief detailing. At roughly 6 cm wide, the frame has enough presence to feel substantial without overwhelming the glass. The bevelled edge on the mirror adds a subtle angled cut around the entire reflection, lending an extra layer of light and depth that you simply do not get with a flat-edge pane.
Size & Placement
At 140 cm tall and 109 cm wide, this is a confidently sized wall mirror that works as a focal point without feeling oversized. In our experience, a white ornate wall mirror of these proportions sits perfectly above a mantelpiece or a long console table in a hallway, where it reflects both light and the sense of space. Hung in portrait orientation, it makes a striking statement piece in a bedroom above a dressing table or chest of drawers. Landscape orientation suits dining rooms and living rooms, particularly above a sofa or sideboard where you want to visually widen the room. The flat bottom edge also means this mirror can lean securely against a wall if you prefer that relaxed, gallery-inspired look — ideal propped on a deep shelf or resting on a solid floor. The white gloss finish pairs naturally with shabby chic, vintage, or coastal-inspired interiors, but it works equally well as a high-contrast accent in a room with darker walls or rich-toned furniture.
Hanging & Installation
This mirror comes fitted with four D-loops on the back — two positioned for portrait hanging and two for landscape — so you can choose the orientation that suits your space. At 15 kg, it is a weighty piece; we recommend a second pair of hands when lifting it into place. Position your wall screws to line up with the centre of the corresponding D-loops, then hang the mirror directly onto them. Do not use string, wire, or chain. Wall screws and rawl plugs are not included, so choose fixings appropriate to your wall type — heavy-duty fixings rated for solid masonry or specialist plasterboard anchors if you are mounting on a stud wall.
For a clean, flush-wall finish, we recommend pairing this mirror with our heavy-duty mirror fittings kit — a hook-and-loop back-plate system designed to sit flat against solid frames.
